Stayed at the Rembrandtplein from 26th May to 29th May. It's true, the rooms are tiny and so are the towels. We had a quirky room which had mirrors on every wall including the bathroom and the ceiling! We stayed on the 4th floor and it was only the 2nd flight of stairs that seemed steep, but it's an old... I stayed here with three friends at the end of May 2013. The room we had was clean and spacious considering there were four beds(!), the bathroom was clean and had a bath/shower and the public areas of the hotel were kept tidy and well-managed at all times. The hotel manager offered us a free drink at the bar on... More

The reception and breakfast area was ok. The staff was excellent, very welcoming and always willing to help you with everything you need. There is no elevator, we had a room on the 5th floor and it was exhausting to carry the luggage up those tiny little stairs. The room was incredibly tiny, so small that you could not open... More

Stayed there for a week over queens day 2013. The staff where extremely friendly, we had a quad room and it was pretty big overlooking the canal. Breakfast was toast, ham, cheese jam coffee and orange juice. The stairs defiantly not as steep as some other places we have stayed in. Yes it is dated but has character. Really close... More

A lovely little hotel, after reading reviews before we went we expected a hovel! Its not the ritz but what do people expect for the price. Its is in a central area but still quiet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it.

This hotel is missing the "s" it should be classified as a hostel . In fact the receptionist ( I use the word loosely ) informed us that hostel were dearer , the beds are 2" mattresses on planks of wood , no towels no soap , the blanket in the cupboard had cigarette burns in it, the rooms were... We booked this hotel for its cost effectiveness as it was the difference between a trip to Amsterdam with our kids (11 and 13) or not. Having read reviews here it was one of those "what are we going to get" moments when we arrived. It wasn't promising on arriving at midday only to be told that we had to... More

Housed in a building dating from 1660 and perched on the canal side it was obviously going to be narrow. However the staff were great, spoke English well and understood our humour. Our room was clean and very small with only a small cupboard as storage. Nowhere to put cases really. Sense of humour needed to cope with the bathroom... More
