The Campanile is a good basic condition hotel that is located in an ideal location only a few hundred meters from the Metro Station. As indicated by many you should avoid driving in Amsterdam so the Campanile is a 20 minute train ride from Centraal Station making it a great location to base your Amsterdam visit. I thought the price... More

The room was simple but OK for a few nights. The location was good, just 20 mins to the centre, and the metro is right opposite the hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful and they helped us find out all the information necessary regarding travel and tickets. The restaurant, although being already closed when we arrived, offered to... More

This is not the sort of hotel anybody is going to rave about, you have to realise that. I stayed there because, due to a trade show in Amsterdam, all the mid-price hotels seemed to be fully booked or to have doubled their prices. The alternatives were numerous places with awful reviews on Tripadvisor (dirty rooms, dodgy plumbing and bad... More

Misled by some good remarks and I booked this Hotel to find that this is a very average Hotel that is very close to public transport. Whilst I did not have any major issues, I was amazed by ordinary and basic furniture, uncovered pathways from reception to room (big problem if temperature is minus 10). Budget wise also, I have... A nice hotel, quite basic but does the job if your out exploring all day. Staff really helpful and the rooms clean. A little surprised that it was sort of like a motel in style. Right beside the end of the red tram line so all you have to do is hop on and go right to the other end... More

Very, very basic accommodation with no frills whatsoever. In essence a motel but then stretched up to 4 floors. Was forced to use the restaurant due to weather conditions bringing the area around Amsterdam to a halt... surprisingly the restaurant was not bad at all. For me never again. If you get a good deal however and are only looking... More

So long as you do not expect frills or comfort, this hotel will suit you. As I am writing this from the room I can confirm is has no comfort, the radiators are either too hot or cold and this chair is like sitting on a rock. That said is is better than a UK Travelodge, but that is not... More
