I simply cannot understand how others have found this great old hotel to be anything but top-level. We stayed there twice in recent weeks and found it a lovely place, elegantly designed and wonderfully run. Perfectly situated in Brussels, just a short walk from the city's grand attractions, the Metropole exudes qualityat every turn. The rooms are spacious; clean, of... More

We stayed in the Metropole because of its central location and beautiful decor, but we were disappointed for a couple of reasons. The hotel in the main areas is stunning, the location is excellent but the room we had was tired and had definitely seen better days. 1) from the main area there were 3 lifts we could find, two... I was here for a conference, and was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. I was upgraded to a Superior room overlooking the front view, which was very pretty. My room was quite large, and included a very ample continental breakfast that was brought to my room at no extra fee. The bed was very comfy, and if... More

s hotel is a stunning building, beautiful architecture. dont be fooled though all is not as good as you would expect firstly on arrival, there is not parking on site, and the attendant was less than helpful in helping us sort out parking, so tired from travelling we gave in to the extortionate rate of 25 euros for them to... We booked this room because of the rate. We knew it was in a good location. It turned out to be one of the best hotels we experienced. The hotel lobby and public spaces are beautiful. You feel like you're surrounded by elegance. We happened to luck out and received a room upgrade. Everything in the suite was upscale. We had... More

This hotel is in an excellent location - given that it is in Brussels the second worst place in the world (I haven't been to the worst yet). Close to anywhere you would bother seeing. The hotel is very tired looking but the price is appropriate and it still has a lot of charm and grander to it. I've never... More

I spent 2 nights in this hotel with my sister. One feels like you went back in time when you enter the hotel. The rooms, are charming with beautiful high ceiling rooms. Despite the age the washrooms are impecable and modern looking. The gym on the first floor was also very nice, clean, and very inviting. On the negative side,... More

The most amazing thing about the Hotel Metropole is that they have been able to maintain the classic look and feel for so long. The facade, front outdoor bistro and lower floor public interiors have been carefully maintained in their old world 19th century splendor. You get a sense of comfort and elegance as you approach the revolving brass front... More

There are many things nice about this hotel, but it is clear it has seen better days. The rooms were ample enough, and the furniture in them was fine. Early check-in was allowed, which is great for a red eye arrival. The cage elevator is a classic and was just plain fun to ride (though the button to summons it... More

We had the Metropole booked for us as part of a last minute package with "Sell Off Vacations" and checked the hotel with Trip Advisor before we purchased the package. The reviews were very helpful! We visited in April-our first trip to Brussels. We were pleased with the elegant "Old World" charm in decor (huge floral arrangement in the front... More
