Wonderful place. As if time stood still 80 years ago. Located in the middle of historic Evora next to an old church. Excellent service. Have a look at the tiled kitchen! Nice breakfast and nice and very helpful staff. If come by car mind the narrow streets, we had to leave our car and let it drive by a native... More

Excellent location with possibility of parking (at a charge) outside the hotel. An old convent with a labyrinth-line and gloomy interior, and the rooms are exceedingly high-ceilinged. I visited on a chilly wet day, but this would be a great advantage in the heat of summer. Well-appointed breakfast room with a good Portuguese breakfast - nothing fancy, but the usual... More

We only stayed at Solar Monfalim one night. The beautiful building and incredibly convenient location made it worth the stay. The room was good, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Although our room did not have WiFi, it was available in the lobby area and on the beautiful, large front balcony... More

I heard that this hotel was originally the home of a noble. Could almost picture that, but the bedrooms made me think "convent." White walls, high ceilings, windows that opened to a courtyard with a church just beyond. Swallows, lots of them, circling when the church bells sounded. Clean and comfortable beds and bath. Good breakfast. Hotel is pretty central... More

We stayed here in mid-October 2011 for one night. We were able to get to it by car with the help of our GPS. Without a GPS we might not have made it. Be aware that there are 22 significant steps to the main floor and no elevator. If you are not able to handle this climb with bags, don't... More

The hotel is a bit old fashioned but ok. The building itself ist great and the decoration is lovely. Our room was big with a high ceiling and clean. The situation of the hotel is perfect for exploring the city, all sights are in walking distance. Parking space is limited, we couldn't park on the hotel parking but had to... More

We've been a little disappointed by this hotel. The building is great (an old mansion) and the overall atmosphere is definitely worth a look. Staff is really friendly. But that's where the good stuff ends: the overall style is really old fashioned, water pressure was super low in the bathroom, room was not acoustically isolated (we could hear our neighbors... More

We returned to this hotel after a previous stay . It was still just as good. A small, traditional hotel which feels more like a bed and breakfast. Very comfortable individually styled rooms. We just had a shower this time as we were arriving late and departing early next day. If you have the time though the rooms with baths... More

This beautiful hotel is set in a very central location. We spent New Year's Eve there and we enjoyed it very much and two weeks later we were back. Thank you Maria José and Rita for the hospitality and thank you Gertrudes for babysitting. More
