The best thing about vip diplomatic is the price quality relation (52€ double room) the rooms are large and quiet with comfy beds and balcony! The location is the best in lisbon 2 min walk to the metro right in lisbon city center you can walk to the main attractions! The car park is free. The staff was very nice... More

This hotel is the worst hotel-experience I have ever had during my time as a traveler! 1. When we came to the hotel the staff said the room is paid for and breakfast is inkl. When we had helped our selves with the breakfast a guy comes up to have us sign for a bill for 16 euro. When we... More

Definitely not 4 Star. Nothing VIP about this hotel. Room on 7th Flr and have to tell you our room looked very very tired. Carpets worn out, beds hard as rock and walls paper thin and disturbed every night with noises from next door. For 4 days they were fixing the WIFI and no internet. Don't think they have had... More

Stayed here three nights. This is run down and old compared to other options at the same price in better locations. The elevator is downright scary. A large group of us were in town for a major event and this place was bottom of the barrel amongst all of our friends. Our friends all paid about the same and stayed... More

This is a nice hotel. I was so fortunate as to have a room at the back, facing the courtyards and not the road. "Sound Proof Rooms" as mentioned in descriptions (found on other websites) however do not really exist, unless this is available for business meeting rooms only. At several times, I was woken up by people in the... More

I stayed at the VIP Diplomatico Hotel for three nights at the end of April/beginning of May with my girlfriend. We had been due to visit Lisbon a couple of weeks before staying at the Residential Alegria, but had to cancel due to volcanic ash. We were unable to rebook at the Residential Alegria as it was full (and we... More

I thought this was going to be just another anonymous business-type hotel, but it’s got more personality than that. A huge room with a large bath, and a comfortable bed, helpful staff (for getting laundry done, dealing with my post, giving advice, etc..), good breakfast, small, friendly, English type bar, large hall with comfortable armchairs and computer where you can... ...only if you're not extremely exigent.... i went to Lisbon to meet my mom.I checked-in before her (we were coming from different places and the reservation was on her name and credit card) so people made life hard to me despite the fact that the manager had told the stuff that i would arrive before my mom,but i managed to... We spent 2 nights at the Diplomatico, rated as a 4 start hotel, which I think it deserves. as other reviewers have already stated it's not the most modern hotel in the world, but the rooms are clean and a good size, the staff were helpful enough, the rooms had air conditioning (not very common in Europe). The hotel is... More

We have just returned from a short break to Lisbon, which was great. We managed to find a great deal on this hotel, especially as it is supposed to be a four star hotel. On arrival, it clearly wasn't the standard you'd expect from a 4 star hotel as the decor was dated and it is in need of a... More
