Just got back from Casino park. Stayed there in 2006, and since then it has been refurbished. The hotel has been modernised, but something is still missing. Sadly this hotel seems to have deteriorated markedly. Loutish behaviour of guests.Very noisy through night and in the restaurant. Indolent and arrogant junior management. Not what one would expect from a five star hotel. Does this hotel still warrant a five star rating ?. More

The Pestana Casino was designed by Architect Oscar Niemayer, and is to my mind a wonderfully designed hotel. Just return from a 7 night stay at the Casino Park. Great hotel in a convenient location, just a few minutes walk from Funchal. Comfortable room. Loved the hotel with its 70`s Columbo look. We were there in Feburary so the place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Swimming pool was great for the kids and outside they had football, basketball, table tennis plus a play area for the small ones. A clean and a big hotel. The rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast were excellent. But the restaurants at the hotel was expencive and the food there was not the best. But there were fine restaurants close to the hotel. The furnitures at the balcony were old and should have been replaced. More
