Just got back from a wonderful visit here, didn't want to come back! The service is very good and the staff so friendly and helpful. If you want a relaxed romantic break this hotel is for you. The rooms are on the dark side and the only critisism is lack of good lighting when getting ready for a night out,... More

My wife & I stayed here for 3 nights in early May having booked an offer through Voyage Prive. The Teatro is a good hotel and situated well to be able to walk to all the main sites within the centre (it's about 10 - 15mins to get to the Douro river), is close to a stop for the Yellow... More

A nice design hotel in the centre of Porto. Rooms a bit smallish though and breafkast area is too small when the hotel is full. The theatre concept is very nicely carried through all across the property, and gives it a nice flair.

We stayed for 3 nights in late April, and had an excellent stay. We received an upgrade to a Junior Suite and it was spacious and a romantic and modern design. Yes, the lighting is subtle, but was not as dark as I was expecting from the earlier TA reviews I'd read. The location is great - well placed for... More

If you read a few of the existing reviews you'll notice a pattern.... Location, service and restaurant are all very good. We couldn't find any restaurants out and about that took our fancy so unusually we opted for the hotel restaurant and we didn't regret the decision. Although not cheap, the food, wine and of course the port are excellent.... More

Nice size quiet room, speedy efficient lifts, never had to wait more than 1 minute. Great large comfortable twin beds Vey spacious powerful shower. Kettle provided (but only 1 teabag per day, per couple) Excellent breakfast choice, and lengthy availability. Always friendly helpful staff Good location close to centre

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on trip adviser. Perfect choice for exploring the city its within walking distance of all the major sights. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is themed on a old theatre, it is a surprise as you enter as its quite dark. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The only... More

We stayed a few nights on a package which included a room upgrade to a tribune room. The room was a good size with a glass bathroom cubicle. The bathroom has curtains instead of a door, but the toilet has a glass sliding door. You can see straight into the bathroom, unless you draw the curtain in the bed area.... More

Teatro is a modern hotel with a nice decor, although the prevalence of dark brown tone is obsessive. The service is regular, and does not have anything special that distinguishes it from other hotel establishments. Its best asset is the central location, and for that reason you probably will not have a restful night, due to the traffic in Sa... More

Stayed at this property for 2 nights on business. The amenities were very basic nice products but only shower cap, shoe mitt provided and no conditioner which was annoying as I had forgotten mine. No robe, no iron and when I requested an iron they only had in house laundry service and nothing for guests use. When you have business... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Hotel Teatro arose from the spot where the Baquet Theatre was inaugurated in 1859. A hundred and fifty-one years later, the unique, refined and bohemian environment of the Theatre has been revived here in a hotel. The Reception represents a box office, where each guest receives a ticket to access their room. The Restaurant and Bar have become the new Palco and Plateia, offering creations for a discerning palate. The inner courtyard is a versatile garden or a quiet and secluded haven from the tumult of the city. The 74 comfortable rooms and suites are colored in gold and bronze, and the gym on the top floor transforms the Hotel into a true arena for action and relaxation. ... more   less
