The Theoxenia in Piraeus is a very clean and well run hotel. Facilities are modest but meals are very good especially breakfast. Piraeus is a working harbour and don't expect much by way of tourist sights it is dominated by the numerous ferry gates delivering goods and people to the numerous Greek Islands. Piraeus does have some established and boutique...

Having always stayed at the Intercontinental Athaenum in Athens for years and years, I decided due to the trouble in Athens right now, and the fact we were staying for only one night before boarding Oceania's magnificent new ship "Marina", we would stay in Pireaus and be close to the ship. If you read my reviews, then you know I...

Clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. An ideal overnight stop before or after joining a ferry or cruise ship at Piraeus.

Visiting Piraeus for business or catching a boat: there is no better option in Piraeus than the clean, comfortable and relaxing Theoxenia. Piraeus is not a place you would normally stay for pleasure or for any length of time so you will not find any special amenities but the staff are helpful and friendly and you will find some interesting...

Why staying in Pireas except to catch a boat when no breakfast is available before 07.00 when the ferries leave early? Rooms are ok with terrible and ugly sticky plastic curtain in the bathroom shower (tub). These mistakes are unpardonable. Management provided with grace rubber cheese sandwiches for our voyage. Prices must remain low to see us again.

We decided to stay in Piraeus insted of Athens to avoid any trouble before our cruise and are we ever glad we did. The hotel turned out to be a great place to stay, very clean and close to the port. nOn top of this we walked around Piraeus and found that contrary to what we had heard, it is...

We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the Port of Piraeus so we could catch our early morning ferry to the islands. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our requests (i.e. for an adapter and a bottle of wine opened).
Our room was well appointed and clean. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant because...

We arrived at 11.00pm to be told that all ferries were cancelled the following day due to a general strike. Not a great start to our vacation! However, the front desk staff were top class and immediately reserved a room for a second night - just in case. The following morning the girl on the front desk made all the...

The staff were excellent; friendly and efficient. However the facility does not meet five star specifications. The WiFi (£9.90 for 24hrs.) is intermittent, and not all rooms have adequate AC. The rooms, although very clean, were dated. The only restaurant in the hotel is very basic with a limited menu.
