view from balcony great, no shelf in fridge door, bedside cabinet fell off the wall when book was placed on it, shower/toilet awful condition, had to use bleach and anti bacterial wipes on everything but still couldn't get rid of smell. towels so stiff didn't need to exfoliate skin. Cabinet fixed after 12 days. More

This hotel is on the main road, right beside the harbour and there are countless eateries around. Exellent location as the hotel leads out onto the main square in Elounda. Trip boats leave the harbour for Spinalonga Island every 10 minutes or so. Opposite the hotel is a very good Inernet Cafe (as the hotel has NO facilities). The hotel... More

We arrived at 11.30 at night, which was no problem at all, We got a seaview room a fridge and water what more do you want. Yes the room was basic but it was clean good hot shower clean towels everyother day and a basic breakfast all for 21 euros a night. I had read all the other reviews and... More

Agree with most of the other comments made previously but thankfully we did not have to put up with any "stench". We were put into a noisy roadside room at 1am after a tiring 2 hour transfer from the airport but asked to change next morning and moved into inside room which faced opposite wall which was considerably quieter. Request... More

If you are looking for a up market hotel dont bother, the aristea is clean and basic, wonderful views over the sea and mountains. we found the staff very friendly and helpful. I do think they could improve the breakfast, very mundane, and no choice. also the shower needs updating, hardly any pressure and water luke warm, luckily it was... More

First impressions on arrival was not the same as on the photo, which was obviously very out of date. Tired entrance and old wired switchboard in reception didn't inspire confidence even though now disconnected. Arrived at 1.00 a.m. given a key and left to make our own way to our room. The room was not harbour side but road side... More

The first impression of a hotel you get, when the bus drops you out on a street so narrow, that you hardly believe one can walk there safely, is:"Is THIS a hotel?". The hotel looks... average, at some points even shabby, and the designer had obviously never been invited to review the decoration of its interiors, but it is the... More

Having looked on the internet for my ideal honeymoon, i thought thats the place, looking at the photos of the rooms with views that looked over the harbour would be the perfect place to stay for two weeks, so i booked it said nothing about any other rooms on there site it only showed the ones with harbour views. The... More

After reading the other reviews here I was prepared for a basic, package tour dominated stay. And the hotel was that.. except for 2 things. 1. The smell, this place has obviously had some issues with sewage pipes and there is a lingering odor throughout.. you especially don't want to spend to much time in the bathroom as besides being... The first thing to note on our stay in this hotel is that the breakdown on the tour operator’s costing said that we were paying £8 per person per day for bed and breakfast. Yes, that’s £8, and (allowing for inflation over the years) it must be the least expensive accommodation that we have ever stayed in. Although the Aristea... More
