I recently stayed at the Castello City Hotel in Heraklion, where I was visiting friends, while taking the opportunity to explore the beautiful island of Crete. My first impressions of the hotel were immediately favourable. It looked clean and modern from the outside and, on entering, I received a warm welcome at the reception desk. Checking in was straightforward, and... More

As partners of LR Health and Beauty Systems we have cooperation with several hotels in Greece. The thing that makes the hotel Castello diferent is the constant desire for improvement and better quality services at every level. We saw changes in the conference room and adding media, the excellent configuration at roofgarden and gradual renewal of domation. Those that remains unchanged are... More

I would like to recommend Castello City Hotel which is situated on the centre of Heraklion,Crete,Greece. It is close to the center, there are bus stops almost in front of the hotel. The rooms are good and in my oppinion people who are working here are very nice, kind, assist your stay, and they are the "Treasure" of Castello Hotel. The hotel's restaurant... On noisy road even thou it is not in the center of city. Groups come in all hours and are noisy. Impossible to sleep. Bathrooms are tiny; first room was small and depressing. When anyone shuts a door it sounds like an explosion! Staff tried their best but this is not a place for adults. Upper terrace for dining was... More

Outside of the hotel looks like it has been renovated recently so gives a good impression when you arrive. The 5th floor breakfast area is very good with friendly and attentive staff and a good view, but unfortunately these are the only good things about the hotel. The front staff are not friendly and certainly not helpful. The room looked... More

We stayed here recently and were very disappointed with the hotel. They must have recently renovated the exterior of the building and the upper terrace because the interior was a big disappointment. Although the hotel had friendly staff, a clean lobby area and is in a central location convenient for walking into downtown, we would never stay here again. Our... More

We paid for a superior room - what a joke, I would have hated to see a standard room. What on earth was superior about this room? The rock hard mattress? The flat pillows? The lack of a mini fridge in the room in 32 degrees outside and nowhere to keep your water cold? The ancient bathroom? The basic and... More

The hotel badly needs renovation - although the lobby, breakfast area are very good, the rooms are old and not soundproof (this is important as the hotel is on a very busy street). The breakfast is indeed many classes better than the rest of the hotel. It's very good, great variety and it's on the top floor with terrific views... More

Essentially a good hotel with friendly staff. However, I say "unusual", as this hotel does not really do food other than breakfast. The breakfast is however good. The rooms must vary in quality, mine was clean, but dark, as it looked onto an internal enclosed area. Also, the hotel does not really provide much in terms of documentation about what... More
