Agree with the reviews that say: A) good value for an expensive city; and B) good location. Also agree with the reviews that say: A) Carsten is unfriendly and frequently half-clothed; and B) the place is unusual. So would I stay here again? Definitely not.

I enjoyed my time here. It was a short walk to the town center. The host was very accommodation and was happy to help with anything. The terrace was lovely and you could overlook some old houses in Copenhagen which was nice.

My partner and I stayed at Carsen's for 4 days in July. I have waited a few months before writing a review because I wanted to consider what I said and not react too quickly, giving a lower than deserved rating. First, the good: location is fine; easy walking distance to the center and all the tourist sites and nightlife.... More

I think if you're a young gay man who smokes then this guest house will be spot on. Otherwise I'd avoid. I'm sure Carsten has a nice inner personality but I saw no sign of it and for a host I found it all pretty bizarre. The whole place is way too smoky for me. I'm a pretty undemanding and... More

I travel all the time internationally and I stay in all kinds of hotels but I have never stayed anywhere like Carsten's!! First of all the location is great, close to everything and location is important. But what no other hotel or guesthouse has is Carsten! Carsten is a natural hotelier! Hospitality is his middle name and after 3 nights... More

Carsten's guest house was a great place to spend some nights in Copenhagen. It's very cheap by Copenhagen standards, practically in the center, and has a great atmosphere, especially if you're gay and/or looking for gay travelers to meet. My room was clean, cosy, and quite large. Carsten was a great host, as much as I could assess him based... More

The apartment is centrally located, our room (no.7) was nicely furnished, but had only one tiny window pane that would open and had another cracked pane - as a result, it was quite warm. The bathroom nearest the front door was the best by far, although it had a huge amount of wasted space - easily could be converted to... More

To celebrate my birthday I wanted to stay somewhere central which was affordable - Carstens allowed both! Denmark is a fairly expensive country so by saving the costs on accom is ideal. Me and a friend stayed in a twin room which is fairly big with 1 double & 1 single (room 3), Carsten allowed us to arrive earlier than... More
