I had lowered my expectations after reading some of the various reviews. It's not a fancy place. It has sensible Danish design, but low ceiling, carpeting where a nice natural stone would otherwise be used and some wear to the property. Check in and out was great - the concierge was quite helpful. The bar service in the lobby bar... More

.We had the corner room with lots of windows and a view of Tivoli. The bed was one big bed (yay!) but too soft. The air conditioning worked very well and got the room nice and cold. The hotel itself is a bit shabby and stale. The breakfast was really disappointing. Nothing to be excited about and the things you... More

A central hotel conveniently located within a short stroll to most of the towns attractions. A 2 minute walk to the main station. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was a good size, clean and quiet. Will return again.

This hotel is a nice example of an original Arne Jacobsen design. But by international standards today I feel it's very tired. The original design and its well renowned architect are it's best selling points, but unfortunately the hotel is not being well maintained and the spirit of its design is fading. A classic of the 1950s by one of... More

Remember the line, you get what you pay for? Not here! You pay a lot for a run down has been. Extremely polite & helpful night staff & pleasant breakfast staff. Rooms have no been updated since the 1970's. I saw on the Internet the photo if the corner room with double set if windows & got that WITH a... More

We arrived expecting a room with queen or king bed and were told they only had rooms with 2 twin beds. My husband was on business and American Express Travel had confirmed with him that he would get at least a queen-bedded room. Understandably, we were very upset and my husband tried to move us to Marriott but apparently the... More

Spent 4 nights here in May in a junior suite. The hotel is very nice but is NOT A 5 star hotel as they claim. It is nice but not luxurious. The location is what you pay for. There is no better location. Across the street from Tivoli garden and one block from City Hall and shopping street. Hop on... More

We came back to the Royal and were not dissappointed. We were travelling with friends and wanted connecting rooms. Tanya, the friendly check-in staff offered us a junior suite connecting to a regular room for a little extra as an option and this was a great choice. What makes this hotel great in addition to the classic Danish design is... More

Pros: Beautiful view over Copenhagen and the Tivoli Gardens both day and night with large full width of room windows. Danish minimalist decor fairly roomy with large desk workspace and electrical outlets. Very comfortable beds although somewhat low to the ground to the ground. Excellent room lighting especially some of the best bed reading lights ever. All tile bath with... More

We managed to get a bargain one night at the property. Arrived at 9AM and we were given a room which was a nice touch. However, this hotel is far from 5*. It looks old and well-worn. It could certainly do with a update, but I guess it's part of Arne Jacobsen's original design. The room itself was pretty large... More
