Simple - clean - fun as different - I stayed in the hostel part - single room two bunks. The rooms are small but functional - I was only looking to sleep and shower in the room and it did the job very well. Shower was good - plenty of hot water. Safe in the room, place to hang clothes... More

We stayed at the Prison hostel for two nights. We were lucky enough to get "cells" in the middle of the museum which was both a little creepy and neat. The island that the hostel is on is beautiful. There is a small beach, area with boats where you can rent a canoe and everything. It is not in the... More

We stayed in the hostel for three nights with a family of five o.w. three smaller children. It has a great atmosphere I.e. a former prison. Rooms are basic and not large but just what you need to visit Stockholm. Staff are nice if not too experienced. Breakfast not worth it though. A plus is that there is a nice... More

3 college-aged friends and I stayed in two of the cell rooms at Langholmen and very much enjoyed our stay. While it's a bit out of the way from the city's urban core, its spot on the island makes for nice walks, a public beach, and a unique atmosphere. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Hornstull... More

Stockholm is a very expensive city and staying at this hostel is no exception. But maybe you want to stay somewhere a little different and don't mind paying a little extra then this might be the place to stay. The hostel is a converted prison on its own little island of Langholmen. The island is beautiful and lush, with lovely... More

Stockholm is an expensive city, so Langholmen provides value for money for accommodation. It's located on an island, but is easily reached by taking the T-Bahn train to Hornstull, then walking across a lovely bridge. I would reccommend that anyone going to Stockholm but a Stockholm card, as it covers the T-Bahn as well as access to various attractions in... More

We knew it was a prison, but I found it a bit creepy. It is a good value for Stockholm and the room was clean. There were two bunk beds and the room was very small. The small island it was on was nice and you could go swimming a short walk away. it was also not particularly well ventilated,... More

We stayed here our first night in Stockholm and it was confusing trying to figure out how to get to the island. We took a very expensive cab from the train station. The concept is interesting and the building was clean and well cared for. The room was a former cell with bunkbeds and a window and the washroom was... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. It's very clean and the staff there is very friendly and helpful. We called them that there was something wrong with the fire alarm at night about 11pm and they came to check and fix immediately. And the "prison" atmosphere is so special for me and my friend. It's also free to see the... More

I generally do not have terribly high expectations for hostels. Just need a bed and a place to eat. But Langholmen made me realize that I actually have a few other fairly basic preferences. Or rather, needs. Like ventilation (stale smell in the hallways). And somewhere to chat with others. And light. And breakfasts that come in under $10. I... More
