As you can see by my other reviews, I often stay at Scandic hotels. For a midranged priced hotel chain, they in my opinion have excellent breakfast for free. The Grand Marina is no exception here. The building is one of the most impressive old style hotels I have ever stayed at, the room was quite big (we had a... More

Overall the hotel is adequate with a very nice location. Breakfasts were reasonable but the same every day (I stayed 5 days). Reception was always crowded with usually only 2 staff in attendance. That is not adequate for a hotel with 460 rooms. Beware taxis in front of hotel taking you on extended routes into town. More

Arrival No doormen or bellmen so you carry your own bags. There is a ramp. Reception was fast, but not super friendly. Room No views. You get a small window with a view of another building. I had a deluxe room then moved to a standard room. Wasn't that much of a difference. Rooms are small with old furniture. It... More

This is a really nice older hotel within easy walking distance (dragging luggage) to the Viking Ferry to Estonia. The buffet meals (breakfast and dinner) were outstanding. Great variety, fresh and hot food and an amazing "bread station" featuring all kids of fresh bread in loaves so you could cut as much or as little as you wanted. The cheese... More

We recently stayed here one night before a cruise on the Viking Line. The location was perfect, just down the street from the cruise line. Our large family size room was large with a king size bed and a fold out chair (not couch). The room itself was dated, as was the bathroom. It was very clean. We used the... More

Stayed at the Grand marina on a business trip to Helsinki. Both check in and out were both smooth and friendly. My room was clean and the bed really comfortable. I found all the staff in the bar and restaurant to be extremely efficient and friendly and provided great service. Any questions my colleague and I had of the hotel... More

Scandic hotels has a way of overpricing rooms like this one was an economy weekend rate , very small, and yet about a 100 EUR for Sunday night. The building and very comfortable corridors compensate somewhat for the modesty of the guest room. Also it seems the minibar was not stocked, and just an empty fridge there. The place is... More

As the hotel prices in Helsinki are rather high, this is one of the least expensive ones. It's located on Katajanokka peninsula, 10-15 minutes walk from the center. Unfortunately, the only way of public transport is tram 4. The hotel is big and can be crowded in the summer, when there are lots of cruise passengers from Stockholm. This time... More

Hotel is located at the end of one of Helsinky harbours, so not just in the center. Despite this, you can visit major attractions in center within a 40 minutes walk or by tram (nr.4) which stops close to the hotel. Rooms are ok ( not bad, but also not excellent) spacious and reasonably clean ( not perfectly clean). If... More

Great value for the money, I guess it was around one hundred euro or less in 2007, but everything was top quality- service, cleanliness, rooms, food. It's well located - right near Viking line & Silja line departure point, so if it's in your plans- the place is right. Although I d stay there again even if I did not... More
