We were welcomed by name as we walked into the lobby. Great start. The manager was most accommodating.The included breakfast was a full spread. Rooms were clean and well furbished. Spent two nights and used this hotel as a base for our exploration of the area.

The hotel itself is being renovated and not ready yet so the accomodations could have been better but the food was very good. It seems they have a very good cook in the kitchen. I'll be back for the food.

I drove the ring road with a friend in September, and one of our requirements were twin beds, and we didn't find a whole lot of options in this cute town. Hotel Stykkisholmur is a basic hotel that served its purpose. Rooms are clean and the bathroom is small but with a cool shower that can clean the whole bathroom when you are showering.
