We stayed at the Hotel Stein for 3 nights in May. The room was large and so was the bathroom. The view from the room of the river and the castle was wow. The bar and the restaurant on the roof top had amazing views of the city. The staff was simply amazing and went out of their way to... More

We arrived in the dark, and as we had heard that there was a 7th floor terrace, and bar, went up there immediately after our warm welcome at reception, and were just amazed with the view. The Hotel is by the river, and the view from the terrace is over to the old town, on the other side. It was... More

THE GOOD: We love to stay here - it is so close to everything in Salzburg, no need for a car when you stay at the Stein! Every room is different, so we are always surprised when we check in just what theme we will have. The view from the terrace is amazing, perfect for a quick evening cocktail or... More

Hotel Stein was in a great location right across the bridge from the old town. The rooftop bar is definitely worth a visit especially to see the sunset and view of the castle. Our room was surprisingly large, the common areas were a bit dated though and on the dingy side. I think they need to invest some money in... More

It was recommended to me that I stop by the roof top terrace of this hotel to the restaurant/bar because the view was exceptional and they have heaters on the terrace so you can sit outside all year round. The view was exceptional unfortunately the service was horrible. It was expensive even by Salzburg standards and even though I was... More

old world history combined with modern convenience. Posh bathroom accompany suites looking out on the Salzburg River and Castle. Walking distance to excellent cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and sight seeing tours. Highly recommended as we will stay when visiting Salzburg again soon. More

This was one of our favorite hotels on our 2 week trip of Europe. This is a very nice, very clean, upscale hotel. The rooms are elegant: wood floors, rich colors (browns, silvers, purples), heavy velvet drapes, updated tile bathrooms. The windows are double paned- even though we were on the second floor we barely heard the street noise below.... More

Stayed in Hotel Stein for one night in September while on business in Austria. It was good. Rooms are clean and functional - couldn't really find any fault. No free WIFI in rooms is a disadvantage although it is available in the lobby. Breakfast was ok - nothing fancy but grand. Lack of parking at the hotel was a disadvantage. More

This was the worst value room we have ever stayed in. Unhelpful staff verging on the unpleasant - no-one showed us to the room which was poorly sign-posted or offered to help with luggage. No lift from ground floor. Room offered two basins as well as shower in the bathroom but only one bar of soap. No shower cap. No... More
