The interior of the pub is rather brown and drab, more tired than in keeping with it's age and character. There are no real ales, just a small selection of cask beer served through those dreadful swan necks, so you had to wait 5 minutes for the beer to settle and be drinkable. The food was adequate, decent portions but... More

Went with family. I ordered spicy leek and potato bake-very good tasty, veg was crisp and super nice. My partner ordered a mixed grill-lamb was mostly bone and the black pudding was very over cooked. Gammon steak and the fish bake were both enjoyed by family. Beef curry was also ordered-very hot but the beef melted in your mouth. The... More

This is a proper pub with stone floors, dogs welcome, superb choice of real ales and fine food too. It's set well off the beaten track but all the better for that. We didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms but we'll certainly call again for lunch.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Inn. The service was friendly and welcoming, a good choice of ales, and the food was excellent, hot and brought out quickly. The portions were generous: I had to admit defeat with one meal, I was so full I simply couldn't finish. The rooms were clean and inviting: the ensuite... More

I have visited the Hayburn Wyke at least five times in the last few years, when walking in the area. The food is always good, with generous portions being served. Sunday lunches are excellent value and the quality is hard to beat. Some decent real ales are always on tap, and the place is very cosy in the colder weather,... More

Was recommended this eating place by hotel owner, so decided to give it a try, bit of an adventure getting down to it but rather nice place, ordered food was not to long in coming, lots and lots of it you need to be really hungry to finish some of the meals, food was nice, hot and fresh served by... Hayburn Wyke is like nowhere else. It caters for walkers between Scarborough and Ravenscar on the way to Whitby. You can approach either on the former railway track or on the coastal path. Road access is down a steep tarmac road from the inland route between Cloughton and Ravenscar. The road was renewed a few years ago with brewery help... More

I called at the Hayburn Wyke with my elderly father for a very early evening meal. I had picked up some positive information on this site about it when it was mentioned in the review of another nearby small hotel / restaurant with rooms etc and thought I would check it out. It is an interesting place with a lot... More
