Me, my husband and little boy turned up at The Ainsley wanting a room for just one night. That was no problem at all. They made us feel very welcome straightaway. We were given a lovely room which was spotless but very cosy. I was taken aback by the amount of tea, coffee and milk there was in the room... More

I stayed for three nights in early June with my husband and had a lovely stay. The service we received really made our stay, including little touches like a box of chocolates on arrival and fizzy water in the room. Breakfast was tasty and the portion size was just right. My husband wasn't very keen on the tea or coffee... More

My wife and I stayed at The Ainsley for 11 nights in late May. On first arriving outside we were impressed by the views over the North Bay and up to the castle. We were met by Lynne (wonderfully friendly and always ready to help) who showed us to room 8 on the 2nd floor, having fantastic views across the... More

For the past several years a group of us golfers from Sheffield have stopped at the Ainsley in June and we have commented that every year we go there has always been some refurbishment carried out inbetween our previous stay. The landlady keeps the place immaculately clean in all aspects and will go that extra mile to be accomodating. Stay there... More

From someone who stays in the town quite regularly having done the rounds of the Hotels and B&B's I have to say the Ainsley is the best B&B I've found in the town. Firstly an excellent location quite literally at the top of the town, just down the road from the castle providing stunning clear views of the North or... More

Excellent place to stay. Lynne certainly goes the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable, from the box of celebrations waiting on the bed to the mountain of tea, coffee and biscuits available but most importantly of all, my wife is on a strict gluten-free diet and so there were three or four different types of gluten free biscuits in... We called in The Ainsley after being let down by the hotel next door (Landlady was so rude - let our room go at short notice knowing full well we were in Scarborough) anyway we called The Ainsley and was made to feel VERY welcome, room had FANTASTIC sea views across North bay (Magnificent). Room 8 was very clean with... More

Staying at the Ainsley Hotel in Scarborough was one of the best times away. You had everything you could ask for; peace and quiet, great location and above all a great cooked breakfast every morning. The sea views were fantastic and panoramic and a welcome sight to see everyday. Cost of staying there incredible. 25GBP per person per night in... More

I've stayed in Scarborough many times and although looked ok on the website, the reality was.... well....everything was mediocre from the bedrooms to the breakfast although to be fair it was clean (I definitely wouldn't have spent a night there if it wasn't). It just needs updating somewhat (orange bedroom!! avocado loo circa 1976!) Been back to S'boro this week,... More
