We had a lovely stay at the Portland. The room had been recently decorated and was comfortable and the Continental style breakfast acceptable except for the (could do better) microwaved scrambled eggs. I would defnitely go back. More

We stayed overnight for a family reunion locally and were in the the standard doubles on the top floor. Very good value for the price. We'd read about the lack of lifts and the bar reception so no surprises. The rooms were very clean with tea/coffee facilities and nice touches such as chocolates on the bed on arrival and the... For the money, it was a pleasant surprise. Very convenient to shopping and restaurants. The staff were very friendly. The adjoining bar (SKUBA) and the restaurant provided a good service, quality, and convenience. Especially appreciated given the windy & cold conditions. If you do decide to stay at the Portland, understand that it is not a new building and if... More

Clean, large room, huge bed, tea and coffee, en-suite could not fault the place. A bit weird checking in at the bar but did not bother me. Great stay and will definately use again, did not have the continental breakfast on offer, stayed in bed due to a late night out and used one of the all day breakfast cafes... More

Thank you for your review and I am glad you had a good stay with us. I understand the issue with booking in at the bar; I would feel the same. I do try to forewarn guests and our staff are briefed to make the process as quick and easy as is possible. Thanks again. More

I had a trip to Folkestone over 2 nights to visit family. The Hotel is mall but very welcoming and comfortable. Brilliant location for walks, beaches, shops, restaurants, Really appreciated the upgrade on arrival and my room was fabulous. Thank you. Breakfast was continental style, very friendly staff will prepare toast and hot drinks for you. The only issue that... More

I researched a lot of hotels and B&'B's in or near Dover for an overnight stay to catch an early ferry to Calais. Most Guest Houses (B&B's) were about £40 - £50 per night. But I'm not really a big fan of the Guest House experience. There were some really nice 4*+ hotels, but they were £75 - £100, which... More

I stayed here with my partner last weekend for a wedding reception at the Lea's Cliff Hall. We had an "executive" room which meant it was bigger and had an ironing board. Some rooms are 4 floors or more up so do not go unless you dont mind a walk as there is no lift. In our room the curtains... More
