The first two nights sleep were unpleasant...Draft is an understatement for room 201. The wind howled which is fine being close to the sea on a windy day but to make the curtains blow as if I was swinging from them is not comfortable...The toilet seat is side saddled and sinking through the floor to the left..not comfortable for use....not... Just got back from a 4 night stay at the Carlton and must agree that all the bad reviews I have read on trip advisor are true. The place is shocking, however, the staff are very friendly and the price was cheap. We went as part of a coach trip and knew what we were letting ourselves in for. As... More

We stayed here for the night before taking an early tunnel crossing. The hotel is right on the seafront, has large rooms, private parking, is a short walk from the shopping centre and restaurants and is very reasonable. Friendly staff and I can highly reccomend it More

This hotel was value for money if your not too picky on cleanliness. Our hotel room was dirty, the carpet had never been hoovered it was filfhy, there were stains on the chairs,... More

after reading some of the reviews we were a little apprehensive, but I have to say that we had a great time and would definitely go again. The food was good and plenty of it and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was average size and as you only sleep there most of the time quite acceptable.... More

Good welcome and helpful reception.Nice big room.(bathroom a bit jaded but never mind ) Very pleasant and quick staff serving well cooked food.Perfectly reasonable portions given the rates we paid via a coach company. Nice to see pictures, decor and furnishings co-odinating.Someone has good taste which is not often the case at the budget end. The management deserve congratulations for shaping... More

Visited with my mother on a coach trip with JustGo holidays. This hotel is tired and needs some money spent on it, to bring it up to a good standard. The plumbing was poor - needed to run the hot tap for a good 5 minutes to get hottish water. Shower was hopeless - trickled out - impossible to wash... More
