An excellent find for a short stay if wanting to explore local sights, shopping etc. Accommodation was clean, very well presented with more than generous proportioned rooms. bathroom very modern and clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Ammerican diner attached seemed popular but not experienced on this trip. Would certainly use hotel again

I booked a hotel room through late rooms for myself my partner and our two children. We had to check in at the bar ( even though there was a reception and two staff on the bar) we had to pay on arrival which is something i have never had to do. I work in the hotel industry and the... More

For bar, read locals' pub with pool table. Choice of beer and wine was good. Room was compact and cold, windows didn't close properly. Radiator in the room did compensate though. Bathroom freezing and wet after a shower, towel radiator didn't compensate - not a place in which to hang about. Certainly not a 3*

Had lovely weekend at this hotel and thoroughly recommend it. Will hope to go again. Owners were more than helpful and beds were super comfy. Also had a very good steak in Fat Larry's Diner. Had not been to this part of Kent before and enjoyed long walk along the seafront to Folkestone and the other way to Hythe. Also... More

Room more than adequate with nice bathroom. Bar friendly. Only comment is that I would have expected the adjacent diner to use free range eggs for cooking breakfast. Most places today are aware of animal welfare concerns. They don't cost much more than battery or barn eggs and it makes a big difference to the chicken!

I have stayed at the Royal Norfolk Hotel a number of times and I can honestly say I have never seen any ghostly activity! In fact I think if the owners did know about it they may well have publicised it as old Kentish country pubs with ghost stories are a unique selling point! That being said this is a... More

Stayed one night in a Superior Double. Room was spotless and we had a huge bathroom (also spotless). Bed was very comfy. Staff were great, very friendly and couldn't do enough. The hotel itself if very clean and seemed in good repair. Be warned, there are a lot of stairs so request a lower floor if you can't climb them.... More

It was a perfect place to be for a weekend as a family. We spent only one night and thank God for that. My boys spent the night in room 22 whereby some ghostly figure kept appearing through the wall, waving its arm on the wall and hanging before the TV. I was quite shocked of what my teenage boys... I stayed at the royal Norfolk hotel for only one night but wished it had been more! The bed was so comfortable I actually missed breakfast so I could stay in it for longer. The staff and the regulars were really friendly and the food at fat larrys (the restaurant attached) was excellent value for money. I will definitely be... More
