We stayed at The Mermaid and although it is a bit tired; the rooms (we had 4) were clean with clean bedding towels etc.The staff were faultless. We parked two cars there overnight and for the price it is an excellent place to stay. The cooked breakfast for a small fee was to die for.

Just been reading the reviews on here and comments back for the management how can you talk to customers in such a terrible way if the person did not enjoy their stay here they are entitled to their opinion and yes as are you but your being awfully rude if you talk like that I expect you will not have... I am acutally here to review the restaurant not the hotel. They have such lovely food. The service is great, the staff get to know you if you go more than once (like us!) and it has a great atmosphere! The sunday carvery is the best but the bar food is lovely too! Always hot and my Mum loves the... More

I think this is a little unfai on the staff as they are always friendly and helpful. I myself was the bar lady in this occasion and I most certainly wasn't rude to anyone. As the owner it certainly wouldn't be in my interest to upset customers. I would ask that you explain your complaint more fully so that I... More

I think you have a bit of a nerve making these kind of comments. You have forgotten to mention that you were booked in by the emergency duty team and the room was paid for by the tax payers of this country.this hotel is extremely clean, and very popular. I suggest you stop begging and sort your life out, then... More

Clean but basic, friendly staff and central location. Woken by street cleaning machine around 5 30am 5 45 6 00 etc Seagulls fill in the gaps! Yeovil is a beautiful town with some splendid churches(st john the baptist behind the Mermaid is a treasure) The Mermaid is not, but then it was £30!

We had a delicious meal today at the Mermaid, Lovely tender meat, help yourself veg and yummy gravy. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, cosy but not a "sauna" as far as we were concerned. Staff very friendly and helpful, highly recommend . Can't wait to go back again.
