I wanted to give more than a 3 because some of the staff were so good. Front of house very good, room with a lovely view. All let down by understaffing for the evening meal (and a very poor meal) and an unenjoyable breakfast.

We were recommended this hotel for Sunday Carvery. It tasted like it had been warmed in a plastic bag yuk! Other members of our party thought the food was ok but nothing special. Very disappointing as the restaurant itself was very nice

We stayed for four nights. The location is excellent, high above the River Wye yet handy for the town, but the poor old place is badly in need of an upgrade, especially the rooms and carpets. Superb position with great views across the River Wye from the bar and a few pricey rooms.
