This is the second time we have stayed at the King's Arms, with three young children, and would recommend it if you are passing through Lockerbie. The breakfast was fantastic and the room fine, big enough, and sufficiently quiet for all of us to get a good sleep both nights. The staff are all friendly, and made a nice fuss... More

Encouraged to stop here for Sunday lunch by TA reports, lamb and beef tasteless and rather tough, plenty of veg but they too rather tasteless. The bar area was full of regulars, appreciating good value for money perhaps but we shall give Lockerbie a miss on our next visit if The Kings Arms represents 2 out of 5. Maybe we... More

I stayed here on my way to the highlands in Scotland as an overnight stay. The evening meal was really enjoyable and the staff were all very friendly. Rooms were good and well behaved dogs welcomed. Very enjoyable breakfast and reasonably priced. I'd definitely stay again.

Possibly the worst meal we have ever had in a Pub. I decided to try their home made fish cakes which must have been supplied from the freezer section of their local Tesco. My partner ordered from the "Specials" board - roast beef which looked like my dog's breakfast with the most disgusting gluppy gravy. I complained to the waitress... More

Needed an overnight stay at a location that would be easy to find at 8pm. The quaint sounding description sounded inviting. First impressions not good as while the hotel was easy to find, the parking was a garage that fitted two cars abreast and about four deep. As well as being full it would presumably mean leaving your keys with... More

We are confused with the nasty, awful things others have said abut this hotel, so decided to follow up as we will be back there this Autumn...we fell in love with the hotel and the town, too, in the mid 90s. The Spence family who run the place are hilariously funny, and those with nasty comments might not get the... More

My partner booked us away for 1 night at this hotel. We arrived and pressed a bell in "reception". A woman arrived to greet us. She was not terribly friendly. We had booked a triple room through Booking.com. When the woman spoke to us, she asked if we were a party of 3. We said no and she said she... More

Arrived at the hotel and checked in. When told about the breakfast times, I laughed and said it would be about 8.50 that we would appear as we were guests at a wedding that evening. The person checking us in then responded "Huh, like the rest of your gang this morning" - not a good start! Was also told to... More

We stayed for two nights at a cost of £80pn. We were part of a group of people attending a wedding locally When we asked what time the bar was open until at night were told at least 11pm. We were eating at a different hotel that night with the bride to be but returned to the Kings Arms at... More
