Found this B&B by chance looking for somewhere to stop after visiting Edinburgh for the day and enroute to the Highlands. We found it easily from the instructions and arrived to discover Helen in the garden. She not only recommended somewhere to eat that evening but also booked as it was already 5.30. Our room was pretty and had everything... More

Hi, and thank you for the prompt and generous review. Nice to cook and have such appreciative guests, we think that a leisurely, relaxed breakfast is one of the great pleasures of being on holiday. Please visit again, your knowledge of birds is impressive and we love to learn more and share our local experiences (though we have yet to... More

Dalqueich Farmhouse is by far the best B&B we have ever had. Helen and Bob are the most friendly people I have ever met, and they do like to pamper you in their wonderfull house! The cosy rooms, great showers and bathrooms, the really DELICIOUS breakfast wih the best marmelades, jam's and jammalades of the world (they officially are!) .... More

Thank you for the review, and we are very pleased that you enjoyed all your trip. Nice to chat and compare gardening, food ideas and recipes - your recipe for mango and ginger jam is delicious, and thank you for letting us put it on our website blog. This is the second time that I have stayed at Dalqueich and I was pleasantly surprised that it was even better than the first time that we stayed. The welcome was genuinely warm - Helen let us relax in the lounge and lit the wood fire for us to relax in front of. The room was comfortable and cosy. It... More

Dalqueich is conveniently located to catch an early flight at Edinburgh Airport, so we used it as a last stopover coming down from the Highlands. That is a pity, as it would have deserved so much more of our time to enjoy its every corner. It is indeed a lovely, lovely home, and you feel welcome from the first moment.... More

We spent almost two weeks in England in hotels, farmhouses, a couple of b&bs, inns and even a castle. We can say wholeheartedly that Dalqueich Farmhouse is the best. The farmhouse is full of history and characters and the home is warm and cosy. You can feel that it is a loving home, not a house just made of stones.... More

Thank you Helen for helping us to relax, first with a friendly chat in the very comfortable conservatory and then a short walk to a seat beside the river where we enjoyed afternoon tea complete with very tasty home cooking. Hi Peter and Pat, We're glad that you enjoyed Falkland Palace-we love both the house and grounds with their connections to Mary Queen of Scots. Good luck with making a set of bellows- we certainly find ours so useful when the log fires decide to sulk! If you visit Scotland again we do hope you'll visit us. Kind regards Helen... More

We stayed here last June for a 1 night stop over on our way to Gardenstown on the Moray coast. You can believe everything that has been posted about this lovely house and couple. Thanks for the review and all the kind words- brightened up a rather blustery and snowy day here (as you can see from the last blog entry we’ve had some snow over the last week or so, as has most of Britain). Our brief stay at Helen and Bob's was definitely our favorite place in our two week trip to Scotland. They both love being hosts, and went far above making us feel welcome and taken care of. Dalqueich Farmhouse was by far the most wonderful experience we have ever had at a B&B. The house is set in a wooded area and is great for exploring and birdwatching.
