We booked this 'hotel' rather than find a campsite and did not expect much. However note, you must have your room door codes before you attempt staying at this place. We had not received ours until we returned home and so had to ask for them as we waited outside the place. The text came through and we eventually got... More

This "hotel" should be shut down due to health and safety! Upon arrival into Room 8, the smell alone was my first indication that this was a bad choice....the bed looked unmade, towels were ripped & one had BLOOD on it! The carpet was stained and disgusting. There was some sort of riot going on ALL night as doors were... More

This place is disgusting. We booked two of the superior rooms, not expecting much as the price was an absolute bargain. We just wanted to put our heads down for the night, somewhere warm and hopefully slightly clean...but no! Bed bugs in both beds, black hairs and blood stained sheets, duvet and pillows. Smelled like damp and vomit mixed with... More

The actual accommodation was perfectly acceptable for the money and the location was perfect. However it seems that the local teenage population use the hotel as a cheap stopover rather than get cabs home, and we appeared to be caught in the middle of a fraternity party with people slamming doors, setting off the fire alarm, shouting and chucking beer... Was offered this hotel as an alternative as the company we had booked through had double booked our original request (whole different story and nothing to do with this review). The exterior of the hotel is very disctinctive in this small market town, quite a nice find and you can see it comes with history. The front gardens has what... More

We knew the Hill House when it was a carvery restaurant and as we were attending an 18th birthday thought we'd check it out. Good, basic accommodation, we had two double beds, tv, shower-room, hot drink facility and clean towels, what else could you ask for all in for £29.99 for two people! A really convenient position, no keys or... More

People are complaining that there are no staff, and that you have to enter a code to get in but these people seem like they panic if nobody is there to welcome them! I think MJB have a clever idea. You pay for your room on the internet and they text or email you a pin code for the front... More

My wife and I booked for 2 nights over New Year 2011/2 as we were celebrating nearby. We wish we hadn't. We stood out in the rain with our luggage while we tried to enter using the pin code we had been given by the booking agency. We then phoned the "helpline" number posted on the wall by the door... This place is a nightmare! The organisation is beyond belief! A snooty "manager" who couldn't deal with my complaint but also wouldn't let me speak to the owner, Tony. Apparently "Tony does not speak to the customers". Another girl with a nice little attitude on her (well done to your parents!). I thought this place was a Hotel. Boy, was... More
