Firstly, we stayed here dec 2009 but it's not giving the option to select that far back. We stayed here as part of a road trip for gigs for a band who were plaing at the local community centre. The hotel room, for the price combined, was like a four star, amazing. I never had the food as there wasn't... More

The Fish and chips were absolutely top class! The Haddock was so fresh it was like it had jumped out of the sea! Portion sizes are extremely generous. We started with the fish cakes and again great portions sizes , we had two portions between three. The staff were top class and the attention to service was excellent. Better than... More

Very welcoming and sociable staff, my room incorporated a kitchen' but was clean warm and spacious, the food was very nice and is obviously a popular restaurant even midweek as this was busy as it was on my first visit, sadly the bar was cold (it was snowing and a cold march) but they did try with a temporary heater,... Had dinner here this week. Good size portions and tasty food. Had lasagne and vegetarian chill, both really good. Desert menu looked good but were too full! Not much else in Aboyne so good that have somewhere like this. Was busy for a Thursday night in January.

We travelled from Portsoy to try the food at The Boat Inn after we had read good reviews about it on trip advisor. We both opted for the beefsteak pie, which was very tasty, but were really disappointed that they had not taken the time to heat our plates, meaning that our food was cold very quickly, i felt that... Stayed for three nights whilst fishing River Dee at end of August. Room had mini-kitchen which was useful for making packed lunch and fridge for keeping drinks cool! Great shower too. Food in bar at night was first class, good service, cheerful staff, good sized portions. Only a continental style breakfast available which suited me but may not appeal to someone yearning... More

We stayed at the Boat Inn for 3 nights while visiting the area for a wedding. We loved it. From the moment we arrived the staff were lovely and honestly couldn't have been more helpful. They were also very knowledgable about the local area giving advise on local attractions. We just had the room without breakfast as it was only... More

In September 2011 my South African husband and I got married in Glen Tanar, and we were thrilled with all the feedback we received from our international guests about their stay at our local boutique hotel, pub and restaurant - The Boat Inn. The accommodation, food, location and hospitality combined with affordable price really makes The Boat the perfect choice... More
