Took one look and knew we would NOT sleep there. It's old, grubby and has a club downstairs that looks like something out of True Blood. Pictures I saw were massively misleading. Do yourselves a favour and book something, anything else so you don't end up loosing your money like we did. We went to find something else....

We made a trip to Bowness on Windermere and stayed at Stags Head for 2 nights. The room we booked was comfortable enough and the location cannot be any better. The lake is within few minutes walk and there are plenty of restaurants around to choose from. I will recommend this place.

Great location in bowness in Windermere, with a pub below. very friendly and rooms where superb! The breakfast was very good with cereal and the full english on offer! We had the bowness suite which was really nice and modern with a lovely bathroom, modern and a great shower! We look forward to returning to this hotel!
