A beautiful building - the room was comfortable and very quiet, spotless bedding with thick comfy pillows - a really big bathroom with bath and shower. Our evening meal was excellent. We had the home cooked gammon with roasted baby pineapple for our main course. It was delicious. Breakfast was too, fresh quality food and an excellent choice. The hotel... More

We stayed in the new, extended part of the hotel, Room 210, which was spotlessly clean, spacious, well decorated & furnished, with lovely views across the rear grounds. The only fault was that of the trouser press being out of order, although an iron and board were available on request. From the initial impressions gained on approach, to the warm... More

We stayed for one night in January on a Groupon deal bought for us by my parents. The deal was to give us a premium room and we were allocated a huge suite in the 4 seasons quarter. I know they have recently updated some of the rooms, but despite its size, the 'Summer' suite was very old and tired.... More

My wife and I were lucky enough to spend three days in early March at this hotel. We had a lovely suite in this historic building. For years I had admired Lutyens, its architect, and i was not disappointed. The building was quite superb, with huge attention to detail, and yet very simply designed in an arts and crafts manner. The restaurant was very good, and there was... This is a fabulous hotel. Whilst it is not cheap it I was worth every penny. I would stop there again if given the chance. I don't think there is a swimming pool or a fitness centre but to be honest at the time I did not care all I needed was relaxation and a good meal and I surely... More

Our 3rd time of staying at the Abbey. I tried to book a room in the newer extension at short notice but none were available. The website was quoting £120 for a double room but when I phoned to book I was quoted £100 so feared the worst and was expecting a broom cupboard. On arrival we were given the... More

Well worth using if you are staying in the area. Could do with some updating in some areas but rooms comfortable, decent food and friendly staff. More

We booked a twin room with bath room only. We arrived well after check in at around 4pm, we were told there was no twin rooms with bath available, after a while they said that they would give us the Autumn suite for the same price which was £35 pp but we had to wait until they got it ready... More
