Our second visit. Great hotel, staff friendly and very helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals in the resturant excellent. Rooms quiet no traffic noise. Although wet and chilly outside, room warm and cosy. Gardens just coming into flower azaleas and rhododendron bushes flowering in lovely colours. Good foods deals on various nights. 1, 2 and 3 course... More

We took advantage of an offer in the Daily Mail to enjoy a four night b and b break at The Cedars. We had stayed there before so we knew what to expect., Our room was ciosy and perfectly adequate. The beds couldn't have been more comfortable. We enjoyed full days and had three evening meals at the hotel. I... More

Set back off the main road in its own grounds and surrounded by trees this hotel could be outstanding. Our double room, although warm, was somewhat shabby and tired and the bathroom was not as clean as we'd have liked. The gardens could be lovely but again, they looked neglected and rather sad. For us the saving grace of this... More

Not stayed here but eaten here on two occassions while attending a function which supplied a cavary. On both occassions the food was very poor and over cooked. I couldn't beleive it when the organisers book the place for a second year and again the food was just as bad. They didnt seem to be able to cater for 60... More

Very nice location of the main road in own grounds, no traffic noise and nice gardens. We had a superior room, large well appointed, huge double bed, very clean and warm, only problem is lack of noise insulation, we could hear every movement of the people above us with badly creaking floors. Food was good and as one expects for... More

Went with friends for an evening meal to the cedars, asked at the bar where to sit and were directed to a table next to the fruit machine, we sat down and looked at the menu, then a regular patron asked if he could sit at the end of our table, my friends said yes but I was a bit... More

Thank you for taking the time to review The Cedars, I am pleased that you found the food good but not that you found the service poor. We try hard to supply the best possible experience to all our guests and on this occasion we obviously did not. I have spoken to all the staff who were on duty that... More

We stayed for two nights on a special deal offered by Olde English Inns. Our room, although small was clean and well presented and had all we needed for a short stay. There was a wide breakfast choice and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was excellent. Service at breakfast was friendly and efficient, unlike reception where getting anyone to... More

Excellent, spacious, clean en-suite double rooms with all facilities. A large bar/lounge with cosy private areas. Dinner is provided in a conservatory style restaurant offering a good range of food from the a la carte menu or the bargain offers from the table d'ote menu ( three course for under £10.00 ). Breakfast is not just the bog standard fry-up,... More
