Despite the cleaner frontage among a collection of shabby waterfront hotels, the Penta is a poor hotel. Cheap fittings in the rooms, the smallest and thinnest towels I have had the misfortune to use (only one bath towel provided) and a 'continental breakfast' that is anything but. We were booked to stay in the caledonia next door but due to double booking they booked us in here - we were very pleased! Decor v good, modern. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Rooms massive with tea making facility/ hair dryer/iron. Small lift - great for buggy! Bathroom huge. We ate with our party next door so cannot comment on breakfast.... More

Just back from the TT, myself and brother stayed for a week and could not fault it. Great location with a bus along the prom into Douglas centre or up to Laxey and Ramsey also close to the electric train which is worth a ride. Quiet, very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly would defiantly stay again.

The rooms are huge! Everything is spotless, the decor is pleasant and the bathrooms are amazing. Great value, great position, great value. The staff have been friendly and helpful. We're already planning our next visit

Superb rooms, very nicely refurbished hotel. Well serviced and very clean. The only thing which let it down was the poor breakfast choice. 'Continental Breakfast' was nothing more than cereal and toast.

This is the worst hotel which I have used on the Isle of Man. It is like a youth hostel. On arrival at the hotel, there were no staff available, just a phone which you can use to phone for assistance. I used the phone and someone did appear to give me a room key. The room was terrible and... More

Excellent check in. Friendly and efficient staff. Spotlessly clean. Rooms excellent, hairdryer, iron available. Possibly a little more choice at breakfast, otherwise no problems whatsoever. Would recommend this hotel to friends and relatives visiting the Isle of Man. Happy traveller from Liverpool
