I wouldn't normally write reviews on hotels or places I have been, however I feel that some of the poor reviews given by some people really doesn't reflect just how good this place is!! I went to the melville hall hotel and spa on an offer i found through travel zoo and it was absolutely fantastic!! Really good value for... More

Had a fantastic time all the staff including the barman were fantastic (he is actually a really nice bloke once you talk to him!).The food was excellent, the room was nice and the Kingsize bed very comfy (don't be put off by the two beds pushed together comments, they are made like this and are zipped together and you get benefits... we have just returned from a 2 night break at the Melville Hall. I am surprised by some of the other reviews as we had a lovely time whilst we were there. The food in the restaurant was very well prepared and a good choice offered - we could certainly find no fault with any of the the courses and... More

Had a great time, food, room and spa all great. Only complaint was in the restaurant. The waiter who took the drink orders, couldn't be bothered to take orders, his customer service was very poor! The music in the restaurant sent us all to sleep, and could do with updating ! Apart from him, all the rest was well above... More

We booked in here for a weekend Gourmet & "Spa" break. Had a Superior room with King size bed. (In reality 2 beds pushed together). God knows what the ordinary rooms were like. The hotel is badly in need of a makeover and is the usual sad and pretentious English 3 star. More

My wife and I stayed at Melville Hall on a 2 night Travelzoo break last week. Included in the break were a manicure, pedicure and 1 beauty treatment and return car ferry. The food in the restaurant was superb and all the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We didn't use the leisure facilities but they looked inviting... More

I knew the Isle of Wight was 20 years behind time which gives it an appeal, but I was perhaps expecting too much of this hotel. We stayed there from 10th April for 3 nights and if we could, would have come home after the first night. It was almost a comfort to now read some of the recent comments... More

We had a two night midweek break at Melville Hall in November 2011 and returned with friends for another similar break at the end of March 2012. We thought the overall package with b&b, evening meal, spa treatments and ferry was good value on each occasion. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, including reception, maid, bar staff and... More

What a lovely hotel, we were lucky to stay in this lovely hotel at the end of March 2012 and what a great time we had, our ferry crossing was super and after an easy 20 minute drive we arrived at the hotel. We parked in the ample car park and was greeted warmly by the receptionist and even though... More

Nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Parts of the hotel a little tired (e.g. corridors) but our twin room was pleasant, and decorated to a good standard. The promised bottle of wine in the room was missing, but we were offered a free bottle with dinner. The only disappointment was the spa treatments. Very basic, and not really professional, although... More
