This is an extremely comfortable, friendly and well run guest house. The accommodation is excellent, spacious with great views and quite peaceful. Lovely breakfast, easy access to beach, plenty of parking and really helpful and thoughtful owners. We would recommend this highly and will hope to return!!

Originally booked in for 2 nights after a tour of North Wales having stayed in 3 previous bed and breakfasts - all excellent. Have to say that, although booked for 2 nights, we extended our stay to 3 nights as everything was so perfect at Cartref, breakfast , room, our friendly hosts and the surrounding area. Linda and Mike we... More

We stayed at Cartref Guest House in early April when we visited Aberdovey (and Wales) for the first time. Our welcome was incredibly warm, and I felt as though I had already known Linda for ages, having just emailed with her before our arrival. Mike is just as friendly and they both are perfect hosts. We were treated to tea... More

Stayed for one night over the Easter break. Lovely warm welcome as soon as we arrived - with the offer of drinks and yummy chocolate biscuits or shortbread. Linda was a breath of fresh air, knowledgable of the area and full of enthusiasm for this lovely seaside town. I have been coming to Aberdovey since I was a child and... More

Clean and spacious rooms, had a good night sleep, excellent hosting by the owners, breakfast is good too ... basically excellent place to stay! I would highly recommend it, and would surely be staying there again if i am any where close.

We had a short break over Easter 2013 at the Cartref Guest House and had a lovely time there. Can't fault it!! Mike and Linda have recently taken over the guest house and really looked after us well making us feel welcome throughout. Linda emailed details of a couple of restaurants in Aberdovey a couple of weeks before we had... More

A family wedding in June 2012 in Pennal brought us to this part of Wales. I researched many places to stay before deciding on Cartref - mainly because it has king-size beds! My husband is 6'2" and we don't get a good night's sleep in the usual size beds found in most B&B's, or even hotels for that matter. We... More

We arrived to find the owners out but they had left a note and instructions on how to get in. My husband, who booked it, said Jules had been fantastic on the phone and incredibly welcoming and helpful. She had recommended the Seabreeze Restaurant which we also managed to book and a few minutes walk away so no need for... More

I couldn't fault it, one of the best, if not the best, B and Bs I have stayed in. Fantasic breakfast - fresh fruit and home-made granola, and lots of good coffee and great cooked breakfast. Room was spotless, bed really comfy, everything spick and span. Met some great fellow guests and the owners Jules and Will couldn't have been... More

Last week I stayed, with three of my walking chums, at the Cartref Guest House, Aberdovey, a handsome seaside resort recently made famous by the food and travel critic, Michael Winner. This delightful establishment is ideally situated close to the Aberdovey foreshore and a very short distance from the local restaurants and bars. The Cartref provides first class accommodation and...
