We reserved a table at this hotel on Sunday 5th May 2013 for Sunday Lunch at 1pm and arrived in good time, we went to the bar and were shown a corner table opposite the bar table 7 and were asked if we would like any drinks and water for the table, we ordered a glass of wine a pint... More

I last visited and reviewed the Potarch Hotel in November last year for their lunch menu and rated it very good and in anticipation of another pleasant lunch returned again in March 2013. I regret to say to a massive let down. I asked for their lunch menu and was advised that they had not been doing that 'for a... More

Good that Potarch reopened. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere in bar/restaurant. Pity the American chef does not know what the venison stovies 'special' should look and taste like - certainly not dry pieces of venison on fairly dry potato lumps with a little onion at the base. Indeed, around half of the venison was inedible due to being overcooked and... More

Stayed in Room 3 for a night away with my partner. Our room was really nice however the bathroom needs a bit of a makeover. The communal areas have really country feel with open fires burning creating a nice atmosphere. The evening meal was mixed starters where fantastic whilst mains where let down by dry mash and greasy chips. Breakfast... More

Very friendly staff, great location, great panorama, price-performance totally reasonable. I stay two nights an Potarch Hotel .Pleasant atmosphere and the dinner was great arranged and it tasted perfectly. My pheasant just melt in my mouth. For dessert I had banana split with home-made ice creams. It was delicious. I would gladly come again!

We held a family meal for my 40th birthday on 15th December, and it was fantastic from start to finish. We had the function in the conservatory area and it was just perfect, welcome drinks beside the fire and everyone enjoyed their food, the service was fantastic, all 20+ guests commented that it was excellent. Many thanks for making the... More

Went to this location for a meal. So sorry we did, very expensive and not to go in to too much detail the menu sounded a lot better (jazzed up names for very basic cooking) than the food actually tasted. Bad portion size and severe lack of flavour. We eat out on a regular basis both with family and on... More

The Potarch Hotel is a great find. It's a perfect destination for those who enjoy a mountain hike, biking in a picturesque countryside , or want to try their skills landing a salmon on the River Dee. The River Dee is less than 100 yards from the hotel and is arguably one of the the best salmon fishing rivers in... More

Took some visitors out to the Potarch for Sunday lunch. "Roaring fire" was belching out acrid smoke. Bar man was more interested in chatting than serving. Food was OK but overpriced. Venison casserole was just that served with bread - no side vegetables. Lacking atmosphere.

Visited for lunch and had a table close to the roaring log fire which provided a very pleasant place to be for a couple of hours. Enjoyed the set lunch menu at £15 for three courses. Whilst portions were not huge over the three courses it seemed just right. Staff very friendly and food well prepared and presented I wil... More
