I really enjoyed my stay, friendly staff and characterful surroundings! Sideboard in the hall at the door and shagpile carpet upstairs. New bathrooms though, and a quiet night's sleep even though the bed was a wee bitty hard.

Great for a Weekend break away from it all, a beautiful old Granite Hotel with excellent staff, service food and entertainment, as we found out on the Saturday Evening. Friendly locals and quite a few Characters. Would definitely stay again
Was here for lunch, opted for the fish and chips. Served on what seemed a small plate for the portion meaning that the fish was served on top of the chips. This of course meant that the fat from the fish drained onto the chips. Had the plates been warmed this might not have been such an issue. The peas...

We decided to have a night out with a couple of friends and didn't want to go too far. We made a booking at the Learney, having not been for some time.
It has a busy lounge and is a very comfortable place to eat, chat and relax.
There were a good selection of specials on the board, but two...

When on business in thiscarea I generally stay in a different hotel but on this occasion it was fully booke up. It took me an hour and a half the previous evening to find an alternative and eventually stumbled on the Learney.
It turned out to be a good find because the it ticked all the boxes for a relaxing...

Stayed here last night while on a business trip. Firstly, I had picked this hotel after looking on the net for a hotel in Banchory. The address may say that but is actually in Torphins about 7 miles. There is nothing else in this village apart from a co-op supermarket. Anyway Initial impression didn't do much for me and the...

we have just returned from a four night stay at the Learney Arms and had a really enjoyable break. The owners and their staff are lovely and very helpful. we had a lovely bedroom which was spotlessly clean with a plentiful supply of toiletries and clean towels. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of good quality hot food. There was a...

Can thoroughly recommend the Learney for a meal - the menu is imaginative and always well cooked, the black pudding and goats cheese with whisky sauce on toasted ciabatta is to die for, and I've yet to have a bad meal there. Staff are always friendly, the ales are good and bottles of wine are sensibly priced. Overall can't fault...

Stayed here because of a family wedding in Torphin's. Were greeted by a lovely friendly lady who showed us to our rooms. We had a lovely sized and bright room with large bathroom. All very clean. Had dinner in the hotel first night which was delicious. We all enjoyed it very much and had a good laugh and banter with...

The Learney Arms Hotel was recommended to us by some friends as a perfect place for a short break with our Children. As a party of four adults, a 12 year old, 10 year old and a five year old we wondered how we could occupy them but we needn't have worried. The owners Murray, his wife Sandra and their...
