My Favorite New Year Destination, we return most years as a family, and I have been there 16 times out of the last 20 New Years. This family feel can be felt throughout the house, as many of the guests return each year, to bring in the New Year, with friends in an amazing setting. The Guest House continues to... More

We were greeted by the very friendly, but efficient Nicki, and taken to the bar; Having chosen our courses we sat and chatted in what used to be the Bishop's chapel until taken through to the beautiful dining room. Service with a smile, not claustrophobic, made the meal a very enjoyable experience. But most of all, the food quality is... More

Extremely friendly and efficient staff plus good facilities made for a great stay. Contrary to other reviews, TV and WiFi is now available in all rooms. I stayed in a very well appointed room in the new wing - perhaps worthwhile checking to see if your room will be in the original house which has far better views or not.... More

We love this Hotel, it's our home away from home. It's warm, comfortable, clean and the staff are so friendly. When we arrived there was no-one around but there was a welcome letter and the key to our room. Really country hospitality and trust is hard to find these days. Our room was perfect and we enjoyed the social atmosphere... More

Fabulous (if rustic) experience for very, very keen and able walkers and those who love to chat to complete strangers from dawn till dusk. Not so perfect for people who like to "plod about" and are socially awkward. That's the summary, read on for the more objective review. FIRST IMPRESSIONS - OUTSIDE We were impressed by the ample parking at... More

Poor food. Poor service. Cleaning? New rooms nice but many old ones are small and dim. Worst coffee machine in the world. Needs a roaring real fire not clanking heaters. More

This seems to be mainly a hotel frequented by walking tours and has the culture of a youth hostel in the body of a quality hotel chain. Large rooms refurbished to a high standard. Clean and comfortable. Quiet location, but convenient for main A82. There's even a swimming pool. Everyone is encouraged to mix - dinner is one sitting at... More

Stayed for 1 night...which was absolutely long enough!!! Horrid experience. No one there on arrival, just a key with a piece of paper telling us which room we were in.Our room was basic and up 2 flights of stairs, the second of which was rather difficult to negotiate with bags.No shampoo or shower gel, just a small bar of soap.... This hotel was a great place for a weekend stay. We used it as a base for going up Ben Nevis and the whole experience was a pleasure. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff were quick and efficient. We would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be near Fort William but in a quiet... More

This used to be the Bishop's manse for the Western Highlands and he DID choose a lovely spot near Glencoe. The lawn sweeps down to Loch Leven and looks across to the mountains. Downstairs is much as it used to be with fireplace, wide staircase and comfortable lounge area (with bar and a large selection of whisky - of course!).... More
