We stayed at the Hotel Royal in early June. Our room (#309) had a spectacular terrace looking out to the lake and was comfortable and well furnished. This is the hotel to stay at in Bolsena -- perfectly located and well run, with excellent rates, an ample breakfast buffet, free secure parking, a lovely outdoor pool, and very friendly staff.... Hotel is very well appointed right opposite the lake - rooms of high quality and kept very well indeed. Would love to recommend to others for position and value for money. Ideal for exploring. Staff very helpful. Last year we stayed by the beautiful pool, but this year the weather was poor and it wasn't open - great shame. Will... More

Bolsena was a wonderful surprise on our tour of Italy, and the Hotel Royal matched the location. Right on the lakeshore, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the staff very welcoming and efficient. The lounges are reminiscent of a more elegant era, beautifully furnished and named for various English queens. Very good breakfast and the hotel also has large... More

Our room overlooked the lake and the view was beautiful. The room was nice and clean (outdated decor but, didn`t care because the location and staff were excellent.) There was secure parking and a pool area that was very nice - pool was closed for the Winter when we were there. The entire hotel was well maintained with a friendly... More

This hotel had excellent service. However, initially the hotel smelled like disinfectant, and the bathrooms were small. The shower was micro-sized, and had poor water pressure. Also, initially upon arrival, the forced air was turned off in the whole hotel, and the only way to get the smell and air circulating in the room was to open the windows. Unfortunately,... More

I had a wonderful peaceful week in this charming hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, from the reception staff to the groundsman. I opted for room only, so cannot comment on the restaurant., but the room was kept beautifully clean, as was the pool and surrounding area. The location was stunning, with comfortable shady walks along the shoreline... More

We had a standard double room with view of the pool and the lake. The room was clean and well equiped. The location is fantastic, near the lake and within a minute walk from the historic center. The staff is helpfull and polite. Good expiriense!

The reviews said that this hotel was well located, relatively inexpensive and clean and these are all spot on. The rooms are fine for size with as much room as is needed. The pool was much better than we expected being spacious and with plenty sunbeds for everyone. The location could not be better, not just on the front but... More

This beautiful hotel is right in the center of Bolsena, at the main roundabout and constitutes one side of the main square. Elegant, well-maintained and stylish in the classical European style on the ground floor, its rooms are likewise pleasant, if a slightly less spacious. We were in a standard double; if you need more space, go for one of... More

A "must be" - perfect service! Fair price! Best location in town. One of the few hotels that stay open in off-season.
