With 3 kids also the best place for us! We were there with half board, because the breakfast and the dinner is very good, varied, healthy, good for the kids! The Staff is also very good, helpful, friendly, gentle! We love this hotel and the city! Grado has a lot of activitys for The children and also for The parents.... More

This hotel has an excellent location, near the beach and just 7 mins walk from the old city. In the surroundings you have nice restaurants, bars and shops. My single room was small but very nice. Nice continental breakfast, good service, plus free wi-fi connection! The reception staff is absolutely nice and make you feel extremely welcome. I would definitely... More

The location is perfect. The hotel feels like, looks like and smells like nothing has changed since the 70's. A typical problem with many Italian hotels. No electrical outlets to charge your gadgets, no free wifi, old and dirty covers on the beds, a tv with a gas tube (yes they still exist), an old ugly desk, and I could... More

The hotel room was very dark. The time of year wasn't great for light but the room windows are in such a way that the room was very dark. Additionally the decoration was old and uggly with tiny showers and little room in the bathroom for putting toilet bag items. The atmosphere was cold and unfriendly. It was not easy... More

It was the first stay at the Grand Hotel Astoria for me and my sister, but my aunt Elvira Udovich comes here almost every year. The hotel has four stars but infact it is a five star hotel. The food is excellent and on the menu they allways have fish, meat and vegetables. The rooms are very clean, you can... More

Very good hotel, quite expensive but worth the price. Our room wasn’t very big, and being on the 3rd floor, central, didn’t enjoy much sea view, but it was clean and on the whole it was ok. The real plus of this hotel for me are the 2 thermal swimming pools, the one indoor, useful if the weather is not... More

This hotel which was at one time the pre eminent hotel in the resort is now a little tired. The location a stones throw from the beach and on the edge of the old town is good but the sea view has been blighted by a large appartment block. The rooms are clean spacious and well serviced but the interior... More

Our third stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. It makes a great base for day trips in the region, one of our favorites in Italy. We take half-board and go out for lunch each day at one of the excellent restaurants within an hour's drive, also taking in cultural sites and some other places we go each trip such... More

This hotel can easily be described as an all-exclusive. I booked a room by calling the hotel reception and was immediately told that we had to pay a daily fee to park our car in the hotel garage - this seems unreasonable to me but we had no choice. When we arrived the front desk personnel was very kind and... More

Spending a week in Grado has become a pleasant habit in our summers, because the island is really peaceful and we can relax with our kid even on the beach, which is the safest for children we ever saw (many reasons: 1) the fences around the beach, 2) shallow sea-water for a long way, 3) fine sand, 4) the beach... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Grand Hotel Astoria was built at the beginning of the 20th century, when Grado was the Habsburgers’ and Middle European aristocracy’s Summer resort, with the name of Hotel Lido. The Hotel knew glory and smartness being the seat of the local casino. It was completely rebuilt and reopened in 1991, continuing its role of hotel with style, quality and elegance, like an island in the island, for its completeness and quality of its services.Tradition and modernity, this is the philosophy of the Grand Hotel Astoria, a 4 stars hotel located in Grado historic centre, few kilometres from the beach, exactly between the historic area with the ruins from the Roman period and the wide boulevards of the city centre, ideal for a completely relaxing seaside holiday.ITALIANOL' Hotel Astoria, splendido Hotel 4 stelle di Grado in Friuli Venezia Giulia, nasce all’inizio del 1900, quando Grado era ancora meta delle vacanze al mare degli Asburgo e della nobiltà Mitteleuropea, con la denominazione di Hotel Lido.L’albergo conobbe fasti e gloria, essendo tra l’altro, sede del locale Casinò. ... more   less
