We came upon La Dimora del Cardinale during a tour of Southern Italy, it's listed in Lonely Planet.
We were tired after a long day's driving, even so, after being shown the place, we just couldn't bring ourselves to stay. Everything felt very dated and unloved.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in October 2008.
The room was clean and allright but really nothing special (no reading lights by the bed for example). This is not 'luxury' always required but for 70 EUR in the complete off season in an almost empty hotel you expect a bit more....
The bathroom was a bit dodgy,...
