The nice thing about surfcastle is its laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Yes, the rooms are quite small and essential and you have to share the bathroom. But you have breakfast overlooking the ocean and if you want to surf you are provided with everything, including lessons. The beach is at a walking distance, very convenient. The hostel is always full... More

Surfcastle is very special place. It was more than we expected, being aware that we are going to a hostel, after all. But, since we arrived we picked up on the house vibe and just went with it for 8 days. We specifically wanted room overlooking the beach (rooms 1 or 2) and only this alone was worthy the money... Although this building might have a spire, like a castle, it is NOT a castle. It's a hostel. The rooms were decent, the bathrooms were clean, the people (guests and hosts) were friendly, and the breakfast was alright. BUT, its not what we expected for 120 euros/night! The wifi was weak on the 2nd floor (where most of the rooms... More

We decided to go with the Surfcastle based on some of the reviews, checked out their web-page and liked the photos. The reality is however different. It's a glorified youth hostel for the price of a nice vacation or hotel room. The bed is a terrible spring bed and rather on the small side for a couple (and it squeaks).... More

What makes this place great is the friendly staff, and the other people staying there. The group vibe can really be great, or just good. Overall I'm giving this place a 4, because I had a great time and would go back in a heartbeat. The view is amazing, its right above the beach on a bluff (hill side). You... More

SurfCastle review. The good: * nicely decorated house with spectacular views. * great people. I’ve been to a few surf camps, and the atmosphere here beats a lot of them. The bad: * way too expensive: for that money you ought to get your own toilet/shower at the very least. * the intermediate lessons were disappointing: we were mixed with... More

Depending on how you look at it, this is either a charming old manor house B&B or a really, really upscale surf camp. Or both. The rooms in the main house are sparsely appointed but full of character, the bed was comfortable, and the view unbeatable - It's right on the point - any closer and you'd be sleeping in... More

I Stayed 10 nights at the Surfcastle in August and had a great time. The location is ideal with the property having several beaches on its doorstep and a number of bars and restaurants a few minutes walk away. The house itself is unique and certainly stands out. Overall the place was kept very clean, the breakfasts were huge, and... More

Just spent a long weekend at Surfcastle and the least i can tell you is that it was a great experience! For those who surf, want to learn how to, or just spend this is the place to be. The house is beautifull and strategically located right in front of one of the most notorious waves around: Lagido. The rooms... More
