We visited Chesuncook in late August/early September. Reaching the Village was not as difficult as I had expected it to be. The roads are not tarmaced but they aren't too bad. You could use a normal saloon car but I would recommend an SUV or 4x4.

The Lake House is located 50 miles north of the Moosehead Lake Region, and 60 milest west if Millinocket, situated in the center of the last recognized wilderness area in the East. signThe Lake House has been featured by numerous magazines as a "very unique and special place" (Yankee, Down East, Boston Globe, New York Times, etc.).
