Having seen this advertised as having luxury villas on the beach, we were really excited about staying at this resort . The boat trip from the mainland was fine, but the jetty at the resort looked as if it was in need of repair. "Welcome to the jungle" was the greeting as we are given freshen up towels as we... More

My husband and I arrived with hopeful expectations of a fantastic nature retreat. We were greeted kindly by the staff and immediately spotted the groups of wild boars running through the hotel grounds. Our room was nice and clean. We were getting excited about the possibilities. My husband had mentioned that it was our honeymoon, so the staff quickly prepared... More

Absolutely the most attractive thing about this hotel is its location, within the borders of Barat NP. Waking up with orchestras of birds, deers and wild pigs walking around your villa and black monkeys passing by on their way to the beach. Difficult to find this on Bali. Although the hotel offers excellent rooms and even better service, you have... More

Don't go! Our villa had water leaking through the ceiling. There was no hot water. The wi-fi wasn't working. Food was awful. Ants were crawling all over the bathroom. The staff were really nice but clearly lacking direction. Overall I'd say the place had tons of potential (wildlife was amazing) but was really poorly run - and was totally overpriced. More

I can't in good conscience give this place a good review for 2 reasons. 1st the maintenance of the grounds and the trash on the beach is unacceptable at resort that charges up to $185 a night. The trash on the beach and the state of the grounds when walking around the hotel makes you want to take pictures and... More

Waka is not just a hotel resort but a great place to relax, chill and do nothing. The boat trip across the bay makes the resort feel like you are on an Island. The beach villa we had was fantastic. Clean & tidy and right on the beach with a great view of Menjangan Island. Thanks to the staff for... More

If your dream holiday is dancing the night away in the bars of Kuta this might be the wrong place for you. It's very isolated and it's a bit of a hassle to get to the mainland, so you are really stuck with the restaurant/bar in the resort. Fortunately the food is good, although there isn't much choice and it's... More

Only to be reached by boat (or by scooter if you would), met by friendly staff a wonderful secluded resort awaited us. One can choose between a nice little house or a full Balinese cottage, Bale included. We enjoyed the privacy and space of our cottage ('Villa') equipped with a rather out of place modern bath tub. Most of all,... More

We arrived to Waka Shorea a little bit concerned from some comments read on Trip Asdvisors about cleanness of rooms and animals (rats) inside the room. Fortunately all our concerns disappeared after few hours of our stay: the environment was pretty clean, a lot of staff personnel ready to help always available, a very nice swiming pool and spa, and... Isolated and unique location, friendly staff, very nice cottages in the national park. Damaged reef in front of the hotel, with free snorkling and canoeing equipment from the hotel. Travellers should realise that the resort is located in the national park, including its inhabitants like monkeys, deer and wild pigs and far away from a nearby village. The food and... More
