My wife and I spent four nights at the Woolly Sheep and loved the place. It was the perfect home base for rambling in the Yorkshire Dales and exploring the countryside. We had dinner one night and our compliments to the chef. I had the Venison and my wife had the Sea Bass special and both were awesome! Our room... More

A family birthday meal at the Woolly sheep was a pleasent suprise, the food was excellent the Sunday roast beef lunch was great value and well worth the set price. The surroundings were warm and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The food was presented well and arrived in good time. The desserts were special and it was pleasing... More

Fantastic little place to sleep after a long arduous walk on the peaks. The rooms were of a high standard for a pub. The bedroom was clean and excellently fitted out with modern pine furniture. Very comfortable bed.The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and finished to a top specification. Breakfast was buffet style with cereal and toast whilst waiting for the... More

Quality pub with excellent food. Eating area towards rear away from the main bar. Good atmosphere slightly more expensive drinks but this helps the atmosphere, a good adult pub. More

Exactly what we like to hear, a good adult pub. Although children and families are always welcomed warmly, we do like people to know that the Woolly Sheep is somewhere you can come for good food and beer, in a safe, warm atmosphere. Thanks. More

Booked a table for 7:30 on a Saturday night, arrived at 7:20 and were shown straight to our table. All tables were either occupied or reserved so a good idea is to book early i imagine. The service from the waitresses, sorry not sure of the ladies names was excellent. Very pleasant and attentive and couldnt do enough for you.... More

Thanks to Ben and the rest of the staff for making our one night a very pleasant experience (except for the rainwater making an exceptional amount of noise - that kept us awake). Breakfast more than made up for our sleepless night - however when we mentioned this - they only charged us for breakfast. Thank you guys for no... More

We visited to dine only on a Saturday evening in April 2012 and had 4 meals. Gammon and Sea Bass were excellent. Two of our party had the lamb shank priced at £14.95 each. It was served with nothing but a small pat of bubble and squeak. Lamb was ok but we felt that there should have been more accompanying... More

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am very pleased to hear you enjoyed the gammon and seabass, but am disappointed you feel the lamb shank was a little underwhelming. When creating the great dishes that we have on the specials board, the chefs do their best to use good quality produce and feel that to overcomplicated such a... More

Had lunch here last Thursday. I had fishcake, which was really nice and obviously homemade, my husband had gammon, which was also good. It's a shame we ordered the chips, as they were very overdone and didn't taste very nice. The service was excellent though and the staff really friendly. It's a really nice place to eat, as the inn... More

Thank you very much for your lovely comments, although i am sorry the chips were not to our usual standard. We always try and use quality potatoes for our chips, so i will investigate this matter and hopefully next time you visit the chips will be perfect for you. Thanks. More
