This has to be one of the nicest looking pubs in a very picturesque part of the country Found the the interior of the pub to be spacious and also spotlessly clean although why the young lady felt the need to oil a wooden mantelpiece when in a dining area is beyond me as it gave of a rather unpleasant... I stayed at the Barge Inn on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May with a friend while we were hiking the Kennet and Avon Canal path. We were booked in to 'The Bridge' twin room on the first floor at the side of the Inn overlooking the garden. When we arrived on the Saturday morning we were met by a... More

We went to this pub for a drink after having a good meal there a few months ago and I'm sad to say this was a very different experience. Our glasses were not cleared for the entire time we were there-3 hours and 9 drinks on a table for 3, it got crowded! We ordered nachos which had chopped veg... More

A group of us booked three rooms over two nights during a hiking trip along the Kennet and Avon canal. We certainly hit the jackpot booking the Barge. This place is the nuts! The rooms are well equipped and immaculately clean. The beds are heavenly comfortable. The towels and bedding crisp and freshly laundered. The en-suite shower and tiolet are... More

We went to the Barge for my mums 60th today and had a lovely lunch, the staff were very friendly and the food was great. Generous portions and even the children's portions were huge! We didn't have to wait long for our food (which was surprising as it was a busy saturday afternoon) and there was always a friendly member... More

A wonderful, warm welcome. The pub had a roaring fire, dogs aplenty but just the right ambiance and very kid friendly. The rooms were furnished just to our taste. But OMG the breakfast was flipping amazing. A 5 course feast no less, cereal, toast, fresh fruit and yoghurt, pastries, and a full english or pancakes or smoked salmon. Bottomless tea.... More

We visited The Barge Inn on both Boxing Day & New Years Day, booked a table in advance so would have to worry about getting a decent table. The food we ordered was prepared very well, 2 of the 4 meals we ordered were from the specials board and was very enjoyable. The food was hot & didn't take long... More

We stayed in the lock room. Clean, comfortable and stylish. Lovely Inn friendly staff and good food and beer. Excellent access to bath by train as the station is only a few minutes walk away. Will stay again.

Agree with all the recent reviews. We returned for a second time and had an excellent stay. The Inn has a great location for access to Bath via train (much less stressful than driving in central Bath) and also for exploring Bradford. We ate in the hotel one night - it was very busy so service was quite slow, but... More
