I have stayed here several times over the years, the choice of reasonable hotels somewhat limited in Bakewell. The hotel is basically clean, but I was disapointed that the advertised wifi was not available in the Courtyard rooms and similarly in the main hotel itself. Breakfast was poor quality, nearly cold, and the coffee was industrial strength paint stripper. Will... More

I booked the Rutland on behalf of my parents who stayed over Monday to Friday, April. The court yard was perfect for them as mum can't manage stairs very well. They loved the views of the gardens. The manager David and his team were very helpful from the start. Every email I sent was replied to promptly. My parents enjoyed... More

Had an afternoon tea at the Rutland Arms last week. A great way to end a day spent in Dovedale. Comfy chairs and enough food to shake a very large stick at. Largest scones I have seen for a while, yummy moist chocolate cake and coffee refills to wash it all down. An excellent price too - bearing in mind... More

My Kiwi friend and I enjoyed a three day break in this historic hotel. We were happy to stay in a courtyard room over the road - it was light, scrupulously clean with comfortable beds and, most important in view of the exceedingly inclement weather, cosy and warm with lashings of lovely hot water. The staff were friendly and helpful;... More

The hotel shows improvements in some areas since our last visit a couple of years ago but there is still room for improvement. The courtyard B & B accommodation needs improvement, the decor is a little dated and shows signs of wear and tear. It also could be a little cleaner. The bed is comfortable and we had a good... More

We agree with all the recent reviews. An excellent special deal including out-of-the-.ordinary dining. So much to see and do in this interesting town within walking distance of the well-located hotel. More

This was a one night DBB on a special deal. The hotel certainly looks the part being a Georgian coaching inn in the centre of Bakewell. On arrival we were made very welcome and helpful with car parking directions( over the road in the former stable yard). The public areas were that rare thing - spacious and cosy with a... More

we had an excellent time the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were exceptioanally warm and friendly but not over the top. We ate in the restaurant and the food was really tasty very special and we would definitely return. The added bonus was the Monday market which was great and would go on a sunday night again for... Booked an evening meal recently for four of us. Very warm welcome in the bar. Delish menu, very well presented, we really enjoyed what we ordered, will be back for seconds. Can recommend the partridge starter...comps to the chef. More
