Spent a nice weekend here with two kids, aged 7 and 9. The beach is only a short walk away and we spent most of our time there. The hotel rooms are basic but clean and good value. We found the staff very friendly , the breakfast very good, and the kids loved the pizza. There were plenty local characters... More

This hotel is in a very picturesque location, right on the beach in Co. Kerry. The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. It isn't the Savoy, but for a great value trip it would be hard to beat. The hotel is full of character, not one of those modern chain hotels that are... More

I was here for a weekend with my family. The hotel is in a good location just beside beach. The layout is all over the place - you have to travel through breakfast room to get to the lift. The rooms were small but adequate. We all had a great sleep. The breakfast was dissapointing - limited choice and the... More

We have just returned from a short break at the White Sands Hotel in Ballyheigue in Co Kerry. We found the Hotel to be in a very good location, just accross the road from one of Irelands Blue Flag beaches. A convenient base for visiting North Kerry. The Hotel is an average 3 star hotel which is in need of... More

Overall, a basic family run hotel. Rooms were nice but hotel corridors were outdated & could do with a spruce up. Staff were extremely friendly & accommodating. Breakfast was not officially served until 8am but staff ensured that we were fed at the earlier time of 7am before we set off for the Ring of Kerry. Delicious scrambled egg. It... More

We were on a road trip up the West Coast and Ballyheigue was our first stop and a memorable one. The Hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The Bar Staff and Musicians made us feel right at home. The "Craic" was great and the traditional music was brilliant with an open invitation... More

UNACCEPTABLE First, the location, an hour away from Killarney, meaning that two hours of each day is spent going over the same roads. Next, while, Ballyheigue is picturesque, it is isolated, depressed, lacking diversions, any sort of public transportation, and a less than ideal area to walk after night. The alcoholics that greeted us every time we stepped out the... More

This was supposed to be our annual holiday...we booked a 3 night super valu break so it was a reasonably priced trip for a family hit badly by the recession. wasn't worth the money though! Village doesn't have much to offer. Hotel is dated. On arrival we were shown to our room. It was a good size....double bed for us, 2... More
