My wife and I have just booked for a second stay at Forgefield House and feel we need to comment on the previous review, questioning if it is the same B&B these people stayed at. Forgefield House is just perfect in every way from hospitality and kindness of Sheila & Sam to the accomodation, breakfasts and car parking facilities. We... More

If you do nothing else when you come to Kenmare, stay at Sheila and Sam’s Forgefield House. Shelia and Sam are warm and genuine people who made our stay just perfect. For a start we arrived late (in the dark and the rain with lots of suitcases) and it was no trouble for them, they cheerfully welcomed us and even... More

A very warm welcome from our hosts who were very informative regarding local area, sights, places to dine etc. Immaculately clean, plenty of space in twin room. 20 - 30 minute walk into town, good after great meals. Delightful setting for breakfast with yummy food cooked to order. More

We learnt about the Forgefield House via the TripAdvisor. We had utilized both Rick Steve's tourbook and TripAdvisor to find suitable accommodation during our recent visit to Ireland. Needless to say, we had both good and bad experiences. The Forgefield House stood out as one of our most wholesome accommodation experiences for various reasons. To begin with, the house itself... On my recent holiday in Ireland I had the good fortune to stay at Forgefield House on the recommendation of friends, and was not disappointed as it was all that and more than suggested. Lovely clean and spacious rooms and great location, just 2 miles from town which puts one in a country setting near the Kenmare river, delightful. The... More

Sam and Sheila are wonderful people and right from the moment we met them, I knew we made the right choice of a place in Kenmare. From previous communications, Sam and Sheila were aware of our needs for a room with our daughter and we had a splendid room with an extra bed and a great view over their green... More

Absolutely charming. Just a short distance outside Kenmare lays a pristine, welcoming B&B. From its meticulous modern clean rooms, lovely grounds only to be outdone by its gracious hosts Sheila and Sam who could not do enough to make our stay an absolute delight. As a foodie, I have to mention that breakfast here was the best in our 2... More
