We stayed one night here in June 2013. Mary is simply a lovely and pleasant hostess. Very clean very home like. About a ten minute walk to town but also makes for a quite and good sleeping night. Weather was perfect when we were there somwe didn't mind the short walk at all. Yummy full irish breakfast :-)

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the comfort and friendliness. The room was clean and fondly furnished and the view onto the river and the mountains was beautiful. Mary is such a nice and helpful person and welcomed us with tea and very delicate scones. Breakfast was perfect: cereals, cheese and ham plate, traditional Irish, scrambled eggs,... More

We were met by Mary on arrival with tea, coffee and cake. Breakfast was excellent, by far the best choice we've had while touring Ireland. It isn't the most central of the b&bs but it isn't that much further out and worth the extra few hundred yards for the homemade bread, scones and jam.

I had a very nice two night's stay here and would recommend it. Easy to find, a short walk from town, delicious food, comfortable room, and a very friendly hostess. Be sure to have a chat with the two donkeys who live next door! (Don't worry, I never heard them make a peep. But they sure were cute!)

We spent one night at Ashfield in a spacious room, a double and twin. As we arrived in late afternoon, Mary opened the front door to greet us in a very warm manner. She immediately told us of a problem with the shower in our room, mentioning that the plumber could not fix the problem until the following day. She... More

While arguably there's relatively little to do in Kenmare, the restaurant scene being quite average too, all of the basics of a clean and well-run bed and breakfast are just a short drive out of the town center. The walls in the home are thin; we could hear our neighbors talking. Unusual (and I think sort of tacky) is the... More

Two nights at Ashfield B & B to start the Irish adventure were truly memorable. Mary was a super host providing a lovely breakfast with the BEST home made jam in Ireland. I would definitely highly recommend

Recently returned from a three night stay at Ashfield B&B and we highly recommend this perfect accommodation! We were amazed at the warm greetings we received from Mary, not only upon our arrival, but each evening as we returned from our days of adventure. Mary was so helpful with directions and activities, as well as being a wonderful cook. Breakfast... More

Stayed 2 nights at Ashfield, warm welcome from Mary, attentive but not intrusive. Room was clean and well appointed, view over river and mountains beyond was wonderful. Good choice for breakfast and was full Irish was very good but would have liked some mushrooms as well. B&B is about 8-10 mins walk from Kenmare Main Street and is situated off... More
