On one of the most beautiful days of the summer so far, I was looking forward to taking my elderly parents and two children to Pontoon to spend time at the beach and have lunch at the Pontoon Bridge Hotel, which I hadn't been to before, but I am familiar with the area. We received a very friendly welcome and... More

My friend and I stayed recently in Pontoon Bridge Hotel on Pigsback Vouchers. We had two vouchers so we booked to stay for 4 nights B & B + voucher for €20 towards dinner with each voucher. Hotel is in a beautiful location, great fishing centre. The twin rooms are guite tiny and stuffy and windows are quite small. The... More

We stayed in the Pontton Bridge on 16th May and I wish that I was in a position to say something positive, but other than the friendliness of the staff and the views on offer from the dining area, I can’t do so. The hotel has a very dated feel, which at a stretch might just pass as quaint and... More

Delighted with the hotel, the Staff went over and above their duties to make you feel welcome. Breath taking view from the restaurant where the freshest of food was prepared for you. For a small upgrade fee you could have the most wonderful lake facing room with your own balcony. Yes the Hotel may be aged but it is perfectly... More

I stayed here 13th/14th May and was so looking forward to it. The hotel is beautifully situated and scenery lovely. However the hotel itself was a huge disappointment. Firstly we were given a room with the kitchen duct outside the window, oh the contstant noise. We then transfered to a small room with no view. We had bar food on... More

Stayed two nights on 14 & 15 may, must say lovely staff and that is the best part of this hotel. The hotel itself is old and in need of a major makeover, the fact they allow dogs is also a real turnoff and when I booked this was never mentioned. The food really left a lot to be desired,... More

Stayed in this hotel on a pigsback deal. We had a really good time and enjoyed the stay. We got a fantastic room which was really large and clean. As a bonus, our room opened out to a huge deck from which we had fantastic views of the lake. The only criticism i would have was the food in the... More

We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend May 11th and 12th . The hotel location is fantastic, in a really beautiful spot between tow lakes (though you would need a car to get there). We had great views over the lake from our room. The room self was decent - this is not a 4 star hotel and the... More

Stayed for just one night in a large, bright and delightful honeymoon style room with about four big windows at the front roadside of hotel. Apparently the back of the hotel has stunning views and better rooms with great views of the lakes where the Quiet Man was filmed. You can fish the part between the two lakes for free... More
