Despite our very late arrival to Springfield House, we were welcomed with a very enthusiastic hello from John and his lovely daughter-in-law. I booked this room through Booking.com in a hurry - on the website (Booking.com), no mention was made of the fact that there were only some rooms en-suite. Springfield House is a very nice place to stay, with owner Maureen Callanan willing to go out of her way to accomodate her guests and help them discover West Cork County. Our family of six was greeted with tea, orange juice and scones and cookies. The kids were happy discover the adjacent family farm, despite a somewhat aggressive unleashed dog.... More

Myself and a small group of friends stayed with Maureen Callanan in May two years ago. This year we returned and stayed 3 nights. Maureen manages to combine excellent accommodation and good food with the wamest of welcomes. Heartily recommended. Michael Cunningham
